New COD: World at War maps in June
Three multiplayer, one zombie.
Activision has announced the imaginatively-titled Map Pack 2 for its hit FPS Call of Duty: World at War. The add-on will be available in June for Xbox 360 and PS3.
The downloadable content will include four new maps: three for competitive multiplayer, and one for the fanciful co-op Zombies mode. There will be 10 new Achievements and Trophies. There's no word on price.
The press release makes no mention of a PC release for Map Pack 2, but that doesn't mean it won't make it. World at War's Map Pack 1 took an extra month or so to arrive on PC, but when it did, it was included free in the 1.4 patch to the game.
The new maps are: Banzai, a fight for control of a river bridge; Corrosion, a scrap in a Russian train yard; Sub Pens, a bombed-out submarine base; and Shi No Numa (Zombie Swamp), which features Imperial Japanese zombies, hell hounds, traps and more.
Plenty more to read and do at the Call of Duty: World at War gamepage.

Much as I enjoy WAW, I would like to see some new stuff for COD4. Seems as though Treyarch are much better at providing updates and new maps. Who knows, perhaps they'll do something but I guess MW2 is their main concern now.

Only on the "lets pull-ya-pants-down" console version - funnily enough on the PC where the maps are given free (as it should be to keep people buying the game and not trading it in) the maps are rarely skipped. On the 360 - I feel sorry for anyone that bothered to buy them - only been booted a couple of times out of thousands of games.
No doubt Map Pack 2 will be purchased by even less people after the misery most suffer trying to get on to any maps from the first map pack in general play.

That's the problem when you have people that will pay $10 for 4 maps.
