800 fricking points for a new game mode??!!

I like the game but the DLC is all overpriced.

This makes me thing the new island could well be a 1,600 pointer....

That does sound a touch overpriced...

I hope we're not seeing the start of one extreme (free updates) right across to the other (expensive updates), so they can make some money back on the former.

Pretty good business logic, I guess. Get the punters happy with you then start to creep the charges in. But they can get fucked, quite frankly.

If I pay that kind of money, I want more than a fucking game mode.

What is it though? Really? Is it new cars at all, or new skins, or just the new mode? I need more info to make an informed decision. I've tried google, but all I get is vague misinformation and conjecture.

Until such time as the recently added requirement to register with EA to even play online fucks back off, so can this game. The cynic in me says that all those free updates were to build up our goodwill so we wouldn't be so outraged with the bullshit that is now commencing.

Burnout's DLC has been overpriced, despite the good stuff they've been doing all year...

It's 33 cars re-done with police livery with some re-modelling done, and the cops and robbers game mode. So really, you're getting quite a bit for the asking price. Just depends if you're going to use all the new cars I guess.

I'm definitely getting it

Sounds good to me, I can't understand all the hate, Criterion have supported this game superbly they deserve something for all their time and effort.

Put me down for some of this. The livery of the cop cars looks awesome-good! Pity I won't be around this Friday to join in the fun... ;_;

Quick go Thursday night peeps? ;oP

Lovely game but they won't be getting me to to part with my hard earned cash. I'll wait for a decently priced retail bundle (hopefully new island + a handful of others). Hell, there used to be expansions the size of full sequels for around that price.

IIRC the PC version doesn't require you to pay with "Microsoft Money", so I have that at least to be thankful for.

Didn't the Horse Armour in Oblivion cost 800MS points? Now that's a ripoff. This is fine. Heck, Arcade games cost more than this.

The Horse Armour didn't cost 800, though it may have as a part of that April Fools joke. It's never really been 800 though.

Cheers for the info Raajaa, it does seem reasonable enough given how much it's adding. At least it's not mandatory.

I've read that it's a Freeburn game mode, but what happens if I'm the host, start this mode and there are people in my game who haven't forked out for this? Are they kicked? Does it just not work?

Had a quick look on the Criterion website and it doesn't seem to say. Can anyone clarify how it works?

They did use some good favours with the free dlc in the beginning, but now my ass is getting sore with these latest Burnout releases. Step back a bit with the price guys, it's a bunch of fucking skins.

Aye. It's 33 cars RESKINNED. Not new cars. RESKINNED. On top of an altered marked man mode.

I'm be happy to support Criterion for their fantastic game (which I bought brand new on release day, very rare) and some really good updates. But that doesn't mean I'll spend £7 on this.

YOU CHEAPSKATES.

They have set a standard by giving us so much free content and visuals over the past few months, give a little back. It's better than what Resident evil did with versus.

Yes, but that eventually stops working if every update after the first year free is way more expensive than if they'd been charging all along!

@RedSparrows. If 800 points is £7 for you, you're doing it wrong!

I'm not sure how 'less than a tenner' is a fair price for one extra game mode in a game that is now readily available for less than two tenners.
