Argh, stop putting Audi's in the screenshots. It makes me go out and buy the most stupid racing games automatically :(

But it sounds rather nice, this. Who would have thought? Still, I'd rather see Criterion work on Black 2 than another racer.

Has the writer played NFS: Most Wanted? He keeps referring to Hot Pursuit like it was the last NFS game where the cops chase you. Most of the features he mentions like they were new were in Most Wanted, too.

Poor old Maggie gets an awful doing in this article. I think she's reasonable well known now after being in MI:3 and Die Hard 4.

Lay off Maggie.

Pick on Christiana Milian instead.

I agree with Gnort - this is just Most Wanted again, isn't it? Not that I'm complaining - best NFS ever.

I quite like Most Wanted and was disappointed when the series moved on from the whole cop chase thing. I might pick this up if reviews are good.

"you're an undercover cop who's pretty much exclusively car-bound (which suggests the obligatory interrogation room scene is going to require some dazzling parallel parking). As the narrative kicks off, you're recruited by - who else? - a sexful federal agent who needs you to pass yourself off as someone who drives around really fast, doing lots of damage and pulling off crazy stunts, to get in with a bunch of criminals who drive around really fast, doing lots of damage and pulling off crazy stunts, and also crimes"

2 Fast 2 Furious then?

The screenies and vids look a helluva lot like they are running on the Burnout: Paradise engine. Confirm?

Looks very promising. Really liked Most Wanted, so this can't be worse.

Sorry, but no. Most Wanted is the best post-5 NFS. That is, the best NFS ever since Black Box was acquired by EA and subsidised by EA Canada (the franchise's previous core developer). Before that, there was a trio of amazing games that seem to have been forgotten by everyone. The original Hot Pursuit (not PS2's Hot Pursuit 2), High Stakes/Road Challenge and Porsche Unleashed. All three building upon the concepts of the first two games of the franchise and making extensive use of awesome in-house music, exclusively exotic cars and even more exclusively, tracks set in amazing environments outside of cities.

I'd like to close this by saying that if ever EA so much as creates a remakes of one of these games, I am going to be so thankful (after their recent mediocre efforts) that I am going to get one of each version of the game.

I can't seem to add Need for Speed: Middle Earth Speedway and Need for Speed: Galactic Empire to my most wanted list?

It's about time we saw racing games branch out a little!

So NFS has become good again after the dull-as-dishwater ProStreet?

Hmmm, I really was determined not to buy this game this year as I thought Midnight Club: Los Angeles looked far more interesting but... I dunno... might have to keep my eye on this one after all. I've always enjoyed the NFS games pre-ProStreet...

I liked the orignal 3DO version of NFS. The locations were great (if not the gfx/frame rate/controls) :)

Hopefully it is quite similar to Most Wanted, with a few more tweaks here and there.
Will be looking forward to trying out the demo before I commit to buy.

This may piss a lot of you off, but I don't like having too much DRM on my computer (no I'm not a pirate) so I was wondering if the forums and articles are true in that it has SecuRom security protection?
This I don't much care about if it's a simple key code or disc check, what i don't want is the continous hardware/HDD monitoring, the secret/invisible communicating and a limit of installs/profiles. I have had very bad issues with the versions of securom that install software and continous processes (e.g. UAService7.exe) so i was just curious as i would really like to play this game on the PC.
