It looks like Project Gotham 4 LOL. But if it's good i'll buy it. Nice to see they finally put in a cockpit view.

Should this say 'First Need for Speed: Shift shot' given that there's only one, and it might well not even be in-game?!

Er? High resolution and AA, yes, but it's not really looking better than GRID or the other NfS games.

Slighty Mad Studios (who are developing this) were Blimey!, who in turn were the original Simbin team that created GTL and GTR2...so this actually sounds quite promising, that or EA are about to ruin the best driving sim creators in the business.

Hey guys. EA just rang up to defend their Shift screenshot! "That is an untouched screenshot captured from gameplay footage," is what we've been told.

That first screenie is a nice shot, the Vettes look great.

But I hope EA is smart enough to allow us to turn OFF that obnoxious speed Blur effect (and turn OFF the orangish 'high dynamic range' (HDR) effect) that they built into NFS:MW, NFS:PS, and NFS:UnderCover. CodeMaster's great game GRID had them too, but fortunately players figured out & posted how to modify some xml configuration files to kill blur and restore natural color depth, which makes GRID look even more awesome.

Hopefully the ex-SimBin developers will infuse Shift with the more realistic physics that set GTR2 apart from the arcadish NFS handling. I am finally hopeful a really good simulation will emerge in NFS:Shift.

Edit: Whoa! EA Need for Speed: Shift (& those 2 other 2009 NFS games) are OFFICIALLY announced here today!

It is a render but then everyone does it, it's just a little more obvious with this one.
