Need for Speed Nitro here in November News

DS Wii News by Ellie Gibson

23 July, 2009

Electronic Arts has announced Need for Speed Nitro will launch this November.

Specifically, it will "ship to retailers worldwide on November 17th". Games are released in the UK on Fridays though, so it'll most likely hit the shelves here on the 20th.

Nitro is the first instalment in the NFS series to be developed exclusively for the Wii and DS. Expect real-world locations, brand new modes and an extensive customisation system. The game can be played with the Wii remote, nunchuk, racing wheel, classic controller, GameCube pad, DS stylus, bent coathanger and power of the mind. Maybe not the last two.

You can see Need for Speed Nitro in action by checking out the videos on the gamepage.

I actually enjoyed Need for Speed Pro-Street on Wii. Not as much as something meatier like GT5P or Forza 2, but for a quick race around it was passable.

I do hope they have customisable controls though. Pro-Street gave you tilt controls or nothing. I'd like to see something similar to Mario Kart Wii, with tilt, nunchuck and classic controller options please.

Chavvy offspring of overweight council flat mums rejoice! Now you can get some use out of the Wii buried amongst takeaway containers somewhere in the house while mum's cashing her giro to get more snouts.

Apparently you can control this with 2 kinds of tilt, nunchuck, classic controller and GC pad. It might even be quite good, the art style is certainly pleasing enough. I'm also glad they've stayed away from that open world nonsense.

Cheers wizlon, nice to know there's plenty of control options. Now I just have to hope that it's a good game :)
