NCsoft evasive on Aion Vision video

"Some features further along than others".

NCsoft's western arm has offered its first official comment on the Aion Vision trailer that surfaced a couple of weeks ago, which appeared to highlight the upcoming features of an expansion pack or updates for the MMO.

As you might expect, the Eye on Community post doesn't offer anything firm. "We're not ready to confirm specifics on features shown in the Aion vision trailer," the statement said.

But NCsoft did indicate that the features are at different stages of development, indicating that they might not all arrive at once.

"As you can tell from the trailer, the development team is hard at work on evolving the Aion experience in unique and innovative ways. Some of the features highlighted in the trailer are further along in the development process than others. Because of this, we aren't ready to share or speculate on timeframes."

We'll have to make to make do with that for now. The features in question included improved graphics, underwater zones, customisable player housing areas, mounted combat, weather effects, new class combos and spells and boss monsters on an epic scale.

In almost related news, there's a new Guild Wars 2 trailer on the official website. Shows a lot more in game stuff than the last and aside from a few small details (human heads being almost the same as GW1) it's all looking mighty tasty.

I am a sucker for a bit of GW action though and I love the art and music.

Too bad GW2 wont be out till 2011. :s As for this Aion BS, the devs can go screw themselves. PRetty graphics and underwater swimming mean nothing if your leveling curve is insane and theres little to noting to do at the end of the game. Such a reward for such an inhumane grind.

Nah, that Aion video was amazing. If they can pull half of that stuff off within the next year or two...

It will be the greatest mmo of all time.

But for now, it's merely a good one.

Aion was not bad for the first 30 levels - very pretty and quite entertaining. After that, it kinda fell apart... too much grind, too little content, substandard instances and nothing to the pvp other than a giant gank-fest. If they don't fix the core of the game, it doesn't matter how much housing or siege weapons they add. Although there will always be a few hardcore pvp'ers who will enjoy it.
