    I'm only buying this is the battle AI isn't so willfully stupid. You shouldn't be able to win a battle against similar forces by setting a straight battle-line and watching the enemy march clumsily into it -getting shot to pieces in the process.

    Yeah well, we actually have no idea what gameplay situation evolved into the first screenshot, your assumption about battle AI may be very much inaccurate. It is rather sound tactics one way or another, since the artillery will NOT want to shoot their cannon at enemies standing three feet before them and are therefore about to get butchered...
