Namco polls PSone suggestions for PSN

Will keep them in mind for future.

Namco Bandai has tweeted its Japanese followers asking for suggestions about which PSone and PC Engine games it should consider bringing to PSN.

The tweet, posted on Monday and spotted by Joystiq, notes that it's not guaranteeing any of them will ever pitch up but says suggestions will provide useful future reference for the publisher.

Namco already has two PSone games on PSN - Mr Driller and Tekken 2 were both released in Japan in late 2006, with the latter hitting US the same year.

Any old favourites you'd like to see? Ridge Racer Type 4 would be top of our list, followed by Klonoa and the Tales RPG titles. Mobygames has a handy list of PSone possibilities.

Klonoa, all the way. Was Tombi a Namco published game?

Just looked it up; it wasn't. I'd still like it though :D

Type 4 was possibly the only one in the whole RR series I didn't have. I remember it being quite late in PSone life, I had probably moved on to Dreamcast by then. Have fond memories of Rage Racer though (Ridge Racer 3). But ya know, they don't have a lot of games that hold up well to this day. Maybe Capcom or Square fishing for suggestions would be more interesting.

    Really?

Why would they not just release them all it costs them almost nothing to do it, so there guaranteed a profit. The slow up take of Publishers re releasing there ps1 titles is absolutely baffling.
  • CaptainFantasm #5 2 years ago

First time for this, but I agree with Matt Damon.
  • Segaswirl #6 2 years ago

Rage Racer, Ridge Racer Type 4 and Soul Blade please.
  • GamesConnoisseur #7 2 years ago

How about ALL what's already available to lucky US PS3 gamers ie Resident Evils?!

I still don't understand why Europe get far less than our cousins across the Pond. We pay more after all for our console and the costs of PSN.

Though my suggestion re PS1 titles are to make available ALL the top 25 ranked games on gamesranking.com or metecritic.com.

"Any old favourites you'd like to see on the Japanese store?"

    Fixed.

Type 4 is absolutely pointless without the JogCon joypad, i still have mine and it is still the best way of playing racing games on a console
  • mingster #10 2 years ago

hmm i have a jogcon somewhere

It's nice that they're trying something like this, but I also hold very little faith that it'll make a difference to the Euro PSN content list.

I'm still bitter that it's been over two years since they release Wild Arms on the US PSN and there's still no sign of it here.
  • andywilkie35 #13 2 years ago

Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis, Klonoa and the Tales games please. But for Europe obviously.

Speaking of which, why the fuck hasn't Dino Crisis been released on the EU PSN yet? Its a disgrace.
  • JodSUMO #14 2 years ago

I'd like to see Yokai Dochuki on there. Used to love that one on the PC-E.
  • HiddenAway #15 2 years ago

Resident Evil and Dino Crisis were published in Europe by Virgin Interactive who are no longer around so obviously the legal hoopla for those titles is quite tricky.

Capcom probably wouldn't have been allowed to publish those titles on the EU store without paying out fees to Virgin.

    Just one theory...

Anything that is a ps1 CLASSIC!
  • Huxamalay #17 2 years ago

@Hidden Away, that cant be true mate, Street Fighter Alpha was released in the UK under Virgin Interactive and thats on the UK PSN Store
  • Huxamalay #18 2 years ago

    Tekken 1,2 & 3
    Ridge Racer Type4
    Time Crisis
    Soul Edge

and I know these are not on the PS1, but I'd like to see Burning Force, Rolling Thunder & Splatterhouse added too
  • bad09 #19 2 years ago

Meh, all publishers were too slow with this gold mine of classic gaming. Even years ago we all knew the only chance of a decent selection of PS1 on our PSPs meant Custom Firmware, Ebay and a PS1-PSP converter.
  • Kaminari #20 2 years ago

Splatterhouse, Valkyrie no Densetsu and Yōkai Dōchūki on the PC Engine, thx.
  • X3Entente #21 2 years ago

    ACE COMBAT 3 ELECTROSPHERE
  • wizlon #22 2 years ago

Point Blank!!! My GunCon will work on my PSP right?
  • HiddenAway #23 2 years ago

    @Huxamalay

According to Sony's Media Go store, it's Capcom CE. Europe.

There's also a similar statement here from Mike Kebby:

So many to choose from... Time Crisis would be top of my list if Namco could somehow patch it to work with the latest GunCon. I'm not sure that's possible, but if it is, I'd love to be able to play the original again. I don't have any tellys that will work with the old PS1 GunCon...

I'd love to see Tekken 3, Ace Combat 3, Ridge Racer 1 and Ridge Racer Type 4 as well. Not sure about Rage Racer, it had some great tracks but the level 6 cars just didn't control very well (or at least I couldn't control them!)

Oh and I'd like to see them all on the Euro PSN, we seem to get the short end of the stick most of the time. :(
  • Collymilad #25 2 years ago

YES, ridge racer type 4. Please god, day one purchase.
  • FuzzyDuck #26 2 years ago

    "OVER HERE!"

I dare Namco to poll us on what price they should be charging for their PSone collection.
  • seabassuk #28 2 years ago

Ace Combat 2, Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere, Air Combat, Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis, Dragon Valor, Klonoa Beach Volleyball, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, Micro Machines V3, Mr. Driller, Mr. Driller G, Point Blank Series, R4 Ridge Racer Type 4, Rage Racer, Ridge Racer Revolution, Soul Blade, Tales of series, Tekken 3, Time Crisis series Soul Blade

Rage Racer was awesome. Loved that game. And people say RRT4 was an overlooked racer.
  • FladgeMangle #29 2 years ago

    Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

That's obviously too much to ask.
  • Acrid #30 2 years ago

Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis was brilliant wasn't it, it still is the best Tennis game I've ever played.

What "if" they Re-released Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere? (Japanese Original)

Remember Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere (Japanese Original) for PS1/PSX. (2 disks)
that everyone really enjoy it because it got anime scene. (anime scenes by Production I.G) plus many fans enjoyed watching the anime scene plus a Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere Disk 1 - Music CD 1 & Disk 2 PS1 Disk with Music CD 2 build in, plus addition features Mission Simulator, addition planes and video about X-49 Night Raven (with advert from Neucom Inc). plus with Mission 00 (VHS Only now showing on youtube)

Then there was a US/UK Version that change everything and cut a lot out because of the copyright issues. (that no joke)

But "what if" they Re-release Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere on PS3 with all the Japanese Original version with include the Anime Scene not the US/UK Cuts, but also have anyone who can do the voices in English & Japanese with English Subtitles plus totally remaster as HD 1080i & 1080p (Full HD.)

    What do you think???
