Godzilla: Unleashed News

PSP DS Wii
News by Robert Purchese

1 February, 2007

"Ultimate giant fighting monsters" will return once more, as Atari announces Godzilla for Wii, DS and PSP: due for release in autumn.

Unsurprisingly the focus of the game will be on old giant stompy reptile as he kicks, stomps, throws and blasts his way through an all-star cast of renowned and formidable nasties in search of the ultimate title: King of the Monsters.

"The iconic Japanese giant goes from strength to strength, taking the franchise in new directions not least with the unprecedented dynamic control afforded by the unique Wii controller," said Cyril Voiron, Atari Europe's marketing director.

"With multiple story paths, players can choose exactly how they want to release the beast within and wreak their own brand of spectacular urban devastation."

Ah yes, something to promote a little more Wii-mote madness. We'll let you know when there's more to go by.

Even though it's only a title and a description, you already know that it's going to be absolute shite. :-)

I wonder; Are developers really that arrogant to think that they know how to make such a game work while 50+ predecessors failed miserably or is it more like a sick fetish nowadays?

Are gamers that arrogant that they think they know more than people who make the games?

smelly, emil's just being empirical. Like if there's a new Lucasfilm game do you think it'll be any good? he's just going on the odds.

Not true D_t_E; War of the Monsters on the PS2 was ace fun; probably because they had a Generic Giant Radioactive Firebreathing Lizard / Generic Large Monkey / Generic Giant Robot Ninja etc. and didn't spend all the cash on the big Godzilla and Kong etc. licenses, and so had some cash left over to, oh, I dunno, make a decent game or something.

But no playable Godzooky, no sale!

Godzilla: Destroy All Monstors Melee By the same company was awesome fun. Not to mention having the best acronym ever - GOD: DAMM

Unleashed is gonna be great (well atleast the Wii version)
