Ahem, timed exclusive. And not even a proper timed exclusive, a mere 30 days (will probably work out as 29 as XBLM is updated on a Wednesday and PSN on a Thursday)

Why anyone still buys this crap from Activision is beyond me.

"Why anyone still buys this crap from Activision is beyond me."

Probably because not everyone is you. That's my guess, could be wrong.
  • Ryboy #4 2 years ago

    Sigh. I'll buy it, probably.

I'm weak and require more content!
  • tachometer #5 2 years ago

I was playing on overgrown yesterday on MW1, not many people on it but still a great game. Anyone who's tired of MW2 should dig out their old copy and give it a blast.
  • Ryboy #6 2 years ago

Additionally, depending on the pricing for the PC package, I think it's quite good. I know 2 of the maps are just re-hashes of old CoD:MW maps, but I'm still rather looking forward to some more content.

The game has a lot of haters but I personally love it.

    All I see is £££
  • Timbercottage #8 2 years ago

Neg if you don't give a crap about this!
  • CaptainQuint #9 2 years ago

BFBC2 for me. Traded this in whilst I could still get good money for it. Hopefully Treyarch's upcoming CoD sequel can breath new life into this boring and noobified franchise.
  • Monkey_Puncher #10 2 years ago

The maps on MW really were much better than the majority of the maps in MW2.

Activision can fuck off though if they think I'm going to pay for them twice.
  • dsmx #11 2 years ago

Can't believe that people are willing to buy this, do you have any idea the message your sending to activision by buying this?
  • sfp_noodle #12 2 years ago

    @tachometer

noone on cod4? what u smoking my friend the community is alive and truely kicking in tht game! matchmaking as fast as MW2 and its the better game by a million miles. still, BFBC2 is taking my time these days
  • sarcasmoidosis #13 2 years ago

They could have given it for free for CoD4 owners.

    Hahahaha. Yeah, sure.
  • rarehobo #14 2 years ago

I would rather spend my money elsewhere, Even if IW games and map packs were value for money.

  • SleepyDeathFred #15 2 years ago

    @Raajaa

Dice would do better if they were actually putting in a brand new map - lack of map variety is definitely BFBC2's weak point.
  • monkfishjoe #16 2 years ago

I know it's been said, but that is a lot of cash. It works out at about £9 or £10? f you were unlucky enough not to get a copy at Sainers or Morrisons and paid £45+ that seems a big ask.

I am voting with my wallet and NOT buying this - I know it won't make a bit of difference, but I want to show my dislike of Activisions pricing strategy (it's a 33% increase on normal map packs). 2 of them aren't even new - I mean how hard must it have been to 'port' the MW1 maps. It's the same freakin Engine (mostly).

    Dissapointing.

Oh well, thank god for BFBC2 (and Perfect Dark)!
  • Hunam #17 2 years ago

I think a tenner might have almost been worth it if two of the maps weren't ports from CoD4. It's still a premium sure but when 40% of the content is something that many people still own and is still perfectly usable just by putting in a different disc is a little cheeky.
  • SleepyDeathFred #18 2 years ago

Selling someone something they bought already is kinda spitting in the face of the consumer and speaks of very little gratitude for customer loyalty.
  • ThePissartist #19 2 years ago

I'd love to see an update that had new weapons and perks, along with the maps.

I'll reluctantly cough up my 1200msp.

The Famas was used in most of the shots (easliy the best weapon in the game).
  • MaxHughes #20 2 years ago

That's all you get for 1200 MSP? Bloody hell!! Good thing I'm getting rid of this shitty game tomorrow....
  • mukki #21 2 years ago

timed exclusive crap... for a map pack what is the big marketing idea behind that?
piss all non 360 players off?

well too expensive but will end up buying it... when it comes of the ps3 a month later...

"Hopefully Treyarch's upcoming CoD sequel can breath new life into this boring and noobified franchise."

I must say, CaptainQuint. You shall (as long as I remember) be CaptainLulz.
  • coolbritannia #23 2 years ago

one of the few games I traded in. i detest the greed of activision.
  • TitusCrow #24 2 years ago

Well there we have it guys - the true meaning of "high margin content" If we buy this we send the message that this price for this amount of content is ok. Please send Activision an other message instead. This is another line in the sand, if we keep letting them walk right past our lines we will end up in the fucking water!
  • LHH #25 2 years ago

Oh look, it's that money pit franchise only tweens give a shit about
  • The_Inquisitor #26 2 years ago

    800msp for 4 new maps on MW1, 1200msp for 3 new maps on MW2.

    Activision... stimulus my ass!!
  • Wacko_AK #27 2 years ago

    @The_Inquisitor

    Chinatown was new was it??
  • The_Inquisitor #28 2 years ago

    @Wacko_AK

A good point, but CoD2 wasn't pulling the crowds like MW1 still is, and most people wouldn't have ever played it before. Also it had a completely different feel and slight redesign to Carentan (had to check the name).
I wouldn't mind so much if they had changed the maps but I haven't heard any suggestion that they have, but it still doesn't excuse the price.
  • BritishBlue1 #29 2 years ago

This...is depressingly bad value for money. Even more depressing that many, many people will buy this without a moments thought...digital distribution revolution, my arse, the only people it benefits right now are the publishers who take the lion's share of the profits while cutting out the middle man.
  • Emth #30 2 years ago

I don't usually trade in games because of the damage it does to developers but I thought Acti could take it so I traded in this yesterday and got God of War 3 for £13!
  • Genyus #31 2 years ago

I see no use as in getting this early considering the DLC maps will probably all get vetoed, as with World at War, so I might get it once there's 30% off action or something.
  • stumoobs #32 2 years ago

Actually I think your all wrong, £10-12 is little money if you think of all the work that has gone into these maps, it's not just the CUT and the PASTE buttons being used, there's probably a flux capacitor or something they use, personally I'd sell my house and my entire collection of faberge eggs to get these maps before turning my boxer shorts around the wrong way so I can take it up the arse............. I hope the sarcasm came through there, but I still like shooting people in the back of the head and if if ever becomes legal.........
  • smelly #33 2 years ago

I'll speak up and say i enjoyed the single player.. while it lasted.. Was worth a 3 night rental..

Wouldnt rent it for longer or pay full price for it though.
