MS offering US Summer of Arcade rebate

Buy all five games and get cash back.

Microsoft is offering 800 MSP (£6.80 / €9.60 / $10) cash-back to anyone who buys all five Summer of Arcade games. Anyone who lives in North America, that is.

"Nothing has been announced for the UK just yet," a spokesperson for the platform holder told Eurogamer this afternoon.

Microsoft is running this initiative to offset the 1200 MSP (£10.20 / €14.40) price tag that four of the five Summer of Arcade games carry. Those entitled to the refund will find it in their accounts sometime in mid-October.

The XBLA Summer of Arcade began last week with 'Splosion Man. This week's addition is Marvel vs. Capcom 2, which will be followed by TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-shelled, Trials HD and Shadow Complex, respectively.

But do you have to wait and buy them all in one hit?

This would be nice to see in EU too please MS.

You know... that "Not in the UK" bit should really be the article tagline, you cruel, cruel bastages. :D

Pretty cool if you plan on buying the games anyway. Splosion Man is *awesome*, Trials HD looks like a next-gen Excite Bike and Shadow Complex speaks for itself. The only one I'm unsure about is Turtles in Time. Even as a full remake, 1200 points is pushing it.

Splosion is fun.. dont want the rest. Wouldnt have gotten the rest at 800 pts TBH so...

However, its nice to see them caring so much about what they say is an important market ;-)

    @jonsaan:

I got the impression that you could buy them at any point during the offer. It would be a bit of an ask to have you buy them all in one go, especially if you'd already bought some of them and wanted to take advantage of this.

"If you buy all of them until August 31st" should be part of the article. Because that's how it is.

Nice of them (would be nicer if they *do* include EU), but, even so, I'm not interested in TMNT or MvsC2. 'Splosion man, on the other hand, is already bought and the remaining two are possible candidates as well.

Only one im interested in is MAHVEL BABY and i already bought that :D

At the MS exchange rate it would actually cost you about £47 for the lot and then just under £7 off as part of the rebate... TBH, I'd consider it if a) I knew more about Turtles in Time and b) if the option was even there for me to take advantage of :p

well trails is the only one i wasn't planning to buy heh if it's 800points, it's free :)
  • Ninja_Tino #11 3 years ago

Kremlik, it's 1200! But hey, it's really only 400! I wouldn't mind getting all these games but 1200 is too much for some of them. I'm going to happily pay it for 'Shadow Complex' and while I loved TiT (hee hee) on the SNES, it is a lot.

I say we all spam the shit out of that Bongo's bloke's Twitter until they announce this offer for the EU, who's with me?.......Anyone?....?....shit...

TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-shelled and Shadow Complex are the only two games in the line up that I'd consider shelling out the 1200Mp.

MvC2 just isn't worth 1200Mp, but might be worth 600mp if they do a half price offer in the future. I have quite a lot of XBLA games now but I've started to realise that it's silly to spend a lot on digital downloads as I don't own a physical copy and all the benefits that brings.

It makes me wonder how the PSP Go is going to do as looking on PSN and the price that full PSP games go for I can't see how it's going to be successful.
