MS hiring for Jackson Halo project
To "keep pace with development".
Microsoft has admitted that it's staffing up for its Halo collaboration with Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson.
Internet detectives over at MTV unearthed job postings recently on Microsoft's website that mentioned working with "an external luminary" in relation to "a new experience in the Halo universe".
It turns out that even Microsoft couldn't brush that one off as rumour and speculation, so the company clarified matters thus:
"Since [the original X06 announcement], Microsoft Game Studios has been hard at work collaborating with Peter Jackson and Bungie on the development of that project.
"At this time, it's necessary to grow the internal team to keep pace with development. Bungie will continue to remain involved in multiple aspects of the Halo Universe with MGS."
There's still no real word on what the Jackson Halo game is, apart from mutterings in early 2007 about episodic content.

Back on topic, I still don't know what Peter Jackson would have to offer a game reall,y apart from really long cut scenes or a lot of CG? And we've already got MGS4 coming out soon for those

and the movie stuff
and the wifi media streaming from my PC
and the HDTV so I can watch bluray films and h264 files
so from the above I'd say I like films, games and music all equally
and I DO love games, I nip off at lunch to play stuff like STALKER, C&C3 and Bioshock on my laptop in a meeting room! Which is better than doing circuits round the rural town where my office is.....

I'm sure there was all sorts of waffle at the time about how each stage of the game was pased to and fro, developed in line with the film and so on. Tbh it could have just been the visual that look that needed PJ sign off. I knew Michel Ancel was involved, but I just thought that PJ had input.
