MS confirms Gears manager appointment

Tsunoda in charge of game's business.

Microsoft Game Studios' Shane Kim has confirmed that former EA Chicago man Kudo Tsunoda is now in charge of the 'Gears of War business' (to quote reports).

GameTap had reported in January that Tsunoda - who is best known for producing Fight Night Round 3 and for never taking his sunglasses off - had moved to Microsoft.

"I'm really excited about it," Kim told IGN at the DICE Summit. "We wanted to put more focus behind [Gears], and it's great to get a creative lead like Kudo."

Kim refused to say whether this meant we'd see more Gears of War games, pointing out that there's "an awful lot we can do just with version of one".

But of course there will be another Gears of War game, because Microsoft and Epic aren't complete idiots, and we never did find out where General RAAM got his frock.

Ugly characters, boring grade c plot lines and dialogue, average gameplay. Both Halo 3 and Gears of war share these problems yet are the biggest sellers on the system. Either 360 owners have bad taste in games or are morons who get hard at the sight of a big gun.

    Which one is it.

We never found out why it takes a gazillion shots to take out General Raam in the first place. Or who that strange psychic female voice belongs to.

Yay!! less CliffyB for the masses!

While I do think Halo 3 and Gears are pretty average games, I was just joking about 360 owners having bad taste. It's not your fault MS are so good at making people buy average games in their millions. I'm one of those people who believed the hype and bought both on day one, but I won't be buying another Halo game as 2 and 3 were shockingly bad when you consider all the money pumped into the series. I also think Cliffy B is a dick head and Gears 2 will suck. RE5 will stomp all over it.

Isn't the "strange psychic female voice" thought to be that of the Queen leading the locust hordes?

Carolyn Seymour who did the voice is listed in the credits as being called "Myrrah" (Wiki).

To me the voice over always came across as a bit of a copy of, or nod to, Lord of The Rings.

Whether she really is the queen the locust keep making reference to remains to be seen. "They do not understand why we wage this war," maybe she's a half breed and thinks it is the way forward.

So GowII may actually be a mating game with the slogan "Make love not war..........Gears of War 2: The endless shag"

What should help is that although the Beserker is a locust female, their traits seem to be very similar to that of human females; "they are constantly in a highly agitated state and appear to be uncontrollable," so will be just as "entertaining" and easy to relate to.
