MotoGP 08 demo on Xbox Live

Bike curious.

Capcom has released a downloadable demo of MotoGP 08 on Xbox Live Marketplace.

The crotch-rocketing teaser is 377MB, and if you've left your Xbox 360 on at home you can kick off the download via the web marketplace.

Meanwhile, those of you who fancy a crack at it on the PC can download that demo, released a while ago, from the official MotoGP website.

MotoGP 08 was released in October on 360, PC, PS3 and PS2, and picked up half-decent scores around the world. You can find out more on our gamepage.

I wasnt tempted by this with too many great games out recently, but now with the demo available I ll give it a good go and see if its worth having, perhaps second hand?

    "Bike curious".

Worthy of Johnny Vaughn's Big Breakfast.

Stick with MotoGP 07, infinitely superior. Hopefully Capcom will have nailed the formula by next Xmas though.

For some reason I traded in Motogp 07, a superb game, for a sale priced SBK World Championship.

SBK is sooo bad, and as Moto GP 07 can be re-bought for just £7 online at the mo, that is what I'll be doing.

You should be able to add the demo to your 360's download queue if your console isn't currently on standby (like mine).

Also, for non-German speaking EG-ers; edit EG's marketplace link to load the English version by changing the DE reference to UK :)

    @Rhubarb

Is 07 still popular online? Also which site is selling at £7??
  • rhubarbandcustard #7 3 years ago

Amazon are selling Moto GP 07 for £9.70 including delivery.

Not guite £7 (I'm sure I had seen it for that).

But a bargain none the less. Especially when the cost is offset by getting rid of my SBK.

Unless you desperately need it of course, wait for January sales. Game prices will nose dive.

I thought this was a bit cack to be honest. Graphically it seems to have gone backwards.

If you have motogp 07 then avoid 08 like the plague - capcom really dropped the ball with 08 in every area of gameplay!

Its shit, its not made by climax its made by Capcom who made the incredibly shit Moto GP games on the PS2. We are not surprised that its shit unless you had only played the incredibly excellent Climax games on the Xbox or PC.

May Capcom burn in hell for this fucking abortion of a bike racer on any format. Equally as bad as SBK08.

Merry Christmas all, except Capcock. OOPS, possible typo there.

Agree. Its an insult to MotoGP and to Climax who took this so far.

The MotoGP Demo/1 lobby on XBL in 2003 (that early I think) remains the best lobby and live features to this day!

MotoGP2 was the best overall of the bunch though :)

Fecking bortion of a game is 08.

Why all the SBK hate... what is so bad about it? I thought that Milestone developed both this and SBK.

"Why all the SBK hate... what is so bad about it? I thought that Milestone developed both this and SBK."

I had SBK 08 for the PC. It looked like it was a direct port of the PS2 version. It looked bad and ran choppy on the PC, it was a lazy attempt by Milestone. MotoGP 08 much better than SBK 08 but MotoGP 07 is even better than what Capcom just released.

I grant SBK isn't a super looker... Only when the weather sours do you get visual treats. But the actual riding around was good challenging fun. Can't comment on the PC version but the 360 version certainly.

BillyWilson hit it right on about 08 just dive bombing into some arcadish classic. 07 has me feel like im really riding while 08 is a mere annoying set of turns that the rider cant even seem to take at decent speeds making only racing on 250cc possible. 07 is a true winner and for as cheap as it is online i suggest everyone pick up a copy.
