@septimus: those "cutesy round family friendly" characters is exactly what makes Wii Sports popular. Nintendo wanted to cross the "blue ocean" and enter new markets. This game is clearly aimed at hardcore gamers who want violence and blood. It won't appeal to the non-gamer masses. Clearly Sony didn't understand what made the Wii and Wii Sports so appealing to non-gamers. This will be a massive failure.

It looks fucking terrible, I don't mean graphics, just everything about it seems wrong!

The design of the fighters must seriously limit the target audience?

I know the Wii goes a little too cutesy, but come on Sony even as a fighting fan I don't feel any compulsion to try this? Take a look at Street Fighter, Tekken and Virtua Fighter as some inspiration and start again ;)
