More songs for Guitar Hero World Tour
Nirvana! Negrita! Sportfreunde Stiller!
Activision has bolstered the Xbox 360 Guitar Hero World Tour music library with songs by Nirvana and some European bands we've never heard of. But we're not very cool.
The Nirvana tracks are "You Know You're Right", "Silver" and "Negative Creep". And as usual, each can be picked up for 160 Microsoft Points (GBP 1.36 / EUR 1.92), or as a trio for 440 MSP (GBP 3.74 / EUR 5.28).
The European tracks, on the other hand, are "Mama Mae" by Negrita, "Dis Moi" by BBBrunes and "54 74 90 2010" by Sportfreunde Stiller. The same pricing rules apply.
Of those, the latter - a German rock band - seem to be the most well known. Still, we might be wrong, like that time we inappropriately groped a person who wasn't actually our friend at all.
The PlayStation Store hasn't been updated yet, so we're unsure if these songs will also appear there.

Is the best way: GH:WT instrument pack, RB1 for the better tracks, then RB2 for the better game? Do I need a bank loan?

Several reasons - firstly, the right-hand cymbal does nothing in Rock band, so the GH:WT set is essentially still a 4-pad set. Secondly, the kick pedal is flimsy and toy-like; easy on weaker feet but impossible to play in a drummer-authentic 'heel up' mode because it's too light and moves about the place. Lastly, the drum charting in Rock Band means that the pads are assigned 'floating' purposes, ie sometimes yellow is closed hi-hat, sometimes it's hi tom so that you can have a full 3-tom roll (GH:WT can only do 2-tom rolls because of its fixed setup, see [link url=h ttp://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showthread.php?s=ccf4 592277e1a4ea994032216ddcee70&p=1521487#post1521487).

When it comes down to it, playing Rock Band on drums on harder settings is best experienced on a Rock Band 2 style kit. Ideally the Ion of course, but we can't all afford that
edit: and you can add cymbals to the Rock Band 2 set of course, and they're full positionable unlike the GH:WT set. They just replicate the pads of course (except in the drum trainer & freestyle mode) but this gives you a nice combination of the floating setup of rock band (which makes you do do separate open & closed hi-hats, and use 3 sets of toms instead of the simpler single hi-hat and 2 toms in GH:WT) and the positioning of the cymbals for the 'feel'.

Yes mate Rock Band is just so much better! I own both RB2 and GHWT enjoy them both but rock band has better songs better interface plus if you can borrow a copy of rock band 1 then you can get 55 songs for 400 ms points!!

Hendrix, Raconteurs, The Killers, Smashing Pumpkins and now Nirvana..... Not a bad little lineup in just over a month! And the Raconteurs pack is excellent in my opinion!
I say long may the battle continue - It's the consumer that's going to win as they battle for supremacy!

instruments/instrumentation - gh:wtf, easily imo. the open string on bass and the held note/chord build and slide bar are new to gh:wtf, rb has added nothing from gh2/3 other than make the hammer notes smaller. the drums are far better and far more realistic than rb, i say that as a drummer. watch any drummer play, you dont see any playing cymbals on a drum. the extra cymbals on rb2 are not going to work unless you know the song intimately, theyre crossmatched.
build quality - rb for drums gh:wtf for guitar. the gh:wtf guitar is, imo, much better than the rb one, bigger buttons and better strum bar for example. drums? mine broke down, the drum head on the red pad came away from the surface under it, causing vibrations, setting the pad off all the time. the drum tuner didnt work to fix it. hmv say they wont be able to replace till new year on 360!
