More Nazi zombies for World at War News

PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3
News by Robert Purchese

10 February, 2009

Treyarch plans to add more Nazi zombies to Call of Duty: World at War as part of the very first downloadable map pack.

That's according to community manager "JD_2020", who tells the official forums "there will be a new wave of undead coming soon". He gives no further specifics, but suggests there may be an entire level of risen-again fascists to disperse.

The original undead playlist - Nacht der Untoten - was unlocked after players completed the World at War campaign. This was soon deemed fat too fun to keep under lock-and-key, and so rolled out to anyone on Xbox Live or PlayStation Network.

The idea in Nacht der Untoten is for teams of up-to four people to fight off waves of Nazi zombies.

We'll keep our eyes peeled to find out more.

Yea. Took me a while to realise that unlocking the new areas of the level simply caused more ways for the zombies to get at you!

Fix the glitches. Also, where's the option to play it if you haven't completed the game? I haven't found it yet.

Nightfire
In "Nightfire," players take to the streets of a war-ravaged Berlin with only the flames of the burning city to expose the enemy.

Station
"Station" offers a bombed out underground train station littered with hidden passageways and destroyed subway cars.

Knee Deep
"Knee Deep" takes place on the island of Peleliu in a once tranquil village turned chaotic Japanese command center.

Verrückt (Zombie Asylum)
The fan favorite 4-player co-op Nazi Zombies Bonus Mode returns with "Verrückt," a terrifying Zombie asylum featuring more weapons, perks via the addition of Perks-a-Cola machines, electroshock defenses and the endless zombie horde.

I think it's fairly obvious that if Treyarch focused on making zombie nazi games instead of re-heated WW2 shooters, they'd garner a bit more respect from the games world at large.

Fingers crossed they take heed of the popular response to this part of the game, and stop making really bad FPSs.

As WaW is a virtual clone of Modern Warfare, perhaps IW should take the same advice.
