More Mega Man 9 DLC this week

Harder difficulties, Time Attack stage.

Capcom will be adding more Mega Man 9 downloadable content to WiiWare, PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace this week.

US dates are WiiWare today, XBL tomorrow, and PSN on Thursday. Euro timings are unknown and may vary.

The upcoming downloadable content will be split into three packs: Hard Mode, Expert Mode, and Special Time Attack Stage.

The Hard Mode ups the difficulty a bit, the Expert mode ups the difficulty a lot, and the Special Time Attack Stage adds another level and "Fake Man" boss to Time Attack Mode.

None of the above are compatible with the Challenge Modes.

Hard Mode? That'd be like giving Half-life 2 a First-Person Mode - it already is!

I have to say I respected Capcom for doing MM9 in the NES style and thought it was genius, but with this DLC coming so thick and fast I've lost all that good will for them.

well the endless mode DLC that came out is actually awesome and makes the game about three billion times better, so maybe these will be great too?

800 points or £5.99 is the right price... FOR THE GAME AND ALL DIFFICULTIES!

Endless mode is great, well worth it. Proto Man not so much. I probably won't bother with harder difficulties, but definitely the new Time Attack level. Fake Man?! OOOEER!

I'm hooooping they're going to release old Megaman stages/bosses in either original or remixed form somehow. Would be cool to be able to run around in old levels with new areas and the ability to take the MM9 robot master weapons. I'll go spend crazy for any Megaman 3 shite. MAGNET MAN!

Really, they're making an extemely frutrating game even more frustrating? Clearly Capcom are trying to reach new levels of the human psyche!

A hard mode... really!? The demo had a firm grip on my nuts as it is.

    Capcom's MM9 DLC makes Namco's DLC a frikken bargain.

An infinite lives option wouldnt go a miss (so you dont have to start from the start each time you lose all yer lives)

"hey - we noticed you're shit at this, would you like infinite lives?"

You'd still need to get past the obsticles but you wont get shoved back to the start on hard bits.

trophies support? ....I would like to boost my e-ego with trophies damn it! lol the only reason I didn't buy the game yet...heard there are no trophies for ps3 :(

Infinite Lives? Doesn't make sense because the problem is not that you have to start from the beginning of the stage but that the weapons' energy is depleted which makes the bosses much harder than they actually are.

The game is difficult, that's true, it is not frustrating however. Everything follows a pattern, if you die you will die the same way again next time if you forgot where the enemies spawn etc. It's really not that brutal, but you do have to play a stage maybe 2 or 3 times until you can remember everything. If you don't have the patience for that then it's your loss - because Mega Man can be incredibly rewarding when you complete a level without getting hit. Not getting hit during the stages is actually a lot easier than it sounds once you know the levels.

I welcome a harder mode and a new stage.

Weapon energy is never a problem, even on the Wily stages. You just have to be conservative and know what situations to use each weapon in, which really isn't that hard. And the designers are nice enough to include easily-respawnable enemies in areas where you need to refill.

But if playing a level through 2 or 3 times to get the hand of it is "too hard" for gamers today, I'm quite, quite sad.

The hardest part in MM9 are those bloody lava beams on the first Wily stage.
