More content confirmed for SFIV console

New characters and online fights.

Capcom has said the freshly confirmed console versions of Street Fighter IV will have more characters plus an online mode.

Internet fights will be limited to you and a friend, according to Japanese magazine Famitsu, which talked to game producer Yoshinori Ono for its latest issue.

Rufus is the first of the new faces, and is a big fat chap in a partially unzipped jump-suit who is apparently a fierce rival of Ken's. He looks a bit like a kebab shop regular with a ponytail.

The second is a fellow called Seth. He's the final boss in the game and is also a blue robot-like person with a weird tummy. His flashiest move is the ability to absorb your fighting style and use it against you.

There's still no date set for the console versions of Street Fighter IV, although the arcade offering is due in Japan in late July.

You can find the first snaps of the new characters on Famitsu.com.

So the last boss is pretty much Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat (it was him who could copy you, right?), or Mokojin from Tekken, most likely combined with the cheapness of a DoA boss. I hope I'm wrong there - and if anyone knows about balance in a fighting game, it's Capcom, so I'm sure my fears will be set aside on release.

Unfortunately I fear the worst - Gill in Street Figther 3 was an absolute git, as was Onslaught in Marvel vs Capcom. They might be good at balancing the main characters, but their bosses are just as evil as anyone elses. :(

Those Rufus shots are pretty frightening. He's like the even uglier cousin of Samurai Shodown's Earthquake.

Seth is from Egypt, that's new for SF. Cool character designs. Also, there's some concept art for Fei Long and Dan. Hope they make it in the game.

Edit: Also, that Famitsu link sends you to the wrong dimension.

I never liked the idea to put new characters in a fighting game just like that. I loved the original SFII' because it was complete as-is. SSFII alredy had some balance issues, and it got worse from there on.

Rufus looks like a big fat paedo.

"Hey little boy, wanna see my special move?"

The Egyptian guy looks cool. Looks like he could be a favourite.
Rufus? Well, erm, I guess it's nice that all those overweight console players have someone to play with.
And blue robot thing looks annoying but there you go.

Who the hell designed Rufus?!? He looks absolutely terrible, and really doesn't belong in a SF game at all. Whoever designed him is on some fucking strong drugs.....

As for the other two...... well, unoriginal is probably an understatement. At least Rufus is original, I'll give 'em that.

What's up with the thing on his stomach? He makes me think of Krang from the Ninja Turtles.
