More Burnout Paradise DLC this month

Cops and Robbers arriving on the 30th.

The next batch of downloadable content for Burnout Paradise will be released on 30th April, according to Criterion's website.

The Cops and Robbers pack promises to include "the greatest freeburn game mode yet" plus more fuzz to attempt to not be caught by.

You will have to pay for the pack, but there's no word on a price just yet. In the meantime why not enjoy this nice video. Or you could read our review of the original game, if you're not familiar.

As much as I love BoP and respect Criterion for giving us ooldes of free dlc i'm a bit dubious about paying for what is essentially an update to marked man mode. I'd expect that one for free. :/

    What Razz said.

I'm slowly lossing all good will I had for them with the good free stuff at first. Not to say any of it feels like a rip-off or anything, but it's getting to that point. Cops and Robbers especially, as Razz says, is a tweaked Marked Man so I wouldn't expect it to have a price.

As much as I love Burnout and want to support Criterion - the previous packs have just been too expensive in my opinion. I bought The Party Pack and Legendary cars, but skipped Toy Cars and Boost Specials. At least this pack will provide new gameplay unlike the car packs. I have been looking forward to this and the Island the most, but I hope they are priced reasonably.

Yeah despite all their good work, the car packs have been WAY too expensive. Hopefully this won't take the mick!

It's a shame they started charging for all the newer updates.

Man, why does this have to be a seperate DLC from Big Surf Island. I love Burnout Single player and I can't wait for the BSI. This Cops 'N' Robbers would be a great pack-in with it. I'm not interested in this DLC at all, I rarely play the game online as it is.

Annoying cost aside, cops and robbers sounds great for MP.

I have no room left on my 20 GB hard drive for more Burnout updates! :o(
  • Doctor_What #9 3 years ago

Buy a new HDD then! I got a 250GB one on ebay for £50 and followed instructions online about how to swap them. It was pretty easy - just follow the instructions carefully. Now I've got space for my entire music collection, downloaded games, and loads on TV and movies too. :)

As for the DLC - well, I'm a bit of sceptic. The core game is good, but none of the DLC has particularly added to that. That's just my personal opinion, and I'm sure there are people who love it all, but I've not been fussed by it or thought that it was worth the cost.

Hmmm....don't want to change my mind about these guys. After a pure lovefest on forums from last years free updates, it seems like all the love is fading with all the latest DLC taking the piss

and +1 to what Razz said

Though there is one thing that is worth paying for. Hovercars! Cars that hover!

Have they fixed the right-analogue stick yet? Rotating minimap?

    No?

Shame. Quality game anyway, but they've really missed a couple of key issues.

Menus and restricted-route races are another one that could be patched in. I'd bite.

"Have they fixed the right-analogue stick yet? Rotating minimap? "

No, they want it to remain a good game :p

Seriously, I'd have nothing against an optional rotation mini-map, but I'd certainly never use it. I love the game as is, which still surprises me given how much I absolutely despised the rest of the series. It's almost like they made it just for me, then started asking me for extra money. Which I gave them for the pack with the HOVERCAR! but nothing else yet.

At least they've added the restart option now.

Ryze just needs something to moan about it seems. :p

if in the races it actually showed me the route to race while i am screaming down a road, and then the street signs decide to flash when you have just past the street, instead of having my head up my ass while the AI i was racing knew exactly where to go,i would of liked this game a lot better

Re: 'I have no room left on my 20 GB hard drive for more Burnout updates!'

That's what I thought too, until I realised you can delete all but the most recent patch for the game and it runs fine. The latest patch contains all the previous ones. It would have been nice for the patching system to automatically overwrite/ delete the old ones, right?!
