Monster Hunter Tri gets Euro release

For Europe and US in early 2010.

Capcom has revealed that Monster Hunter Tri will head West to Europe and the US early next year.

The date for the Wii-exclusive, which has already been released across Japan, gets no more specific.

Capcom says the first localised version of the game will be on show at gamescom in Cologne, Germany later this month. Eurogamer monster lover Dan Pearson - he who reviewed Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - will be there to see Tri.

Monster Hunter Tri is "one of the most striking beautiful titles ever developed for the Wii", claims Capcom, and allows you not only the freedom of land, but also the chance to tackle underwater beasts. Have a look at the screenshots to see if you agree.

You'll be able to do that either on your own with AI companion Cha-Cha, or with three friends via a custom online Wi-Fi mode.

Head over to Eurogamer TV for the lavish Monster Hunter Tri intro trailer.

Yes. This game looks awesome! Been watching live streams of it and it looks really impressive.
Will we have to pay for online like Japan?

well reading the article it seems like there isn't a proper online mode for the west? That is a shame...

Nice. This is the only game that will make me buy a Wii. I wonder if theyre considering 360/ps3 tho.

Zulu: I think it's always limited to four people, kinda like PSO.

i thought there was a 'town mode' like on MH 1 and 2? Where you and upto 8 - 10 other random player hunters could gather and get hunter licences? You coul jump lobbies at anytime? Isn't that the mode Japan gets that you have to pay a sub for?

This mode just sounds like you can only invite friends only. Not actually meet new ones to hunt with?

This is the only Monster Hunter game with a Euro release that I won't be getting. No way in Hell that I'm buying a Wi just for thisi.

Hopefully Capcom will release this in some form for PSP. Hell, even a PS2 version would be great -- to play on my PS3.

MH:tri is wii exclusive (there is talk that capcom picked the wii for a low-res graphic so it could be ported to psp(2), but I would think this is highly unlikely.) The wii is still one the the fastest selling platforms. I don't own a wii, but I will buy 1 for this game. After clocking up over a 1000 hours in MH:freedom, MH:f2 and now united, I think this is something that will have longevity and be cult hit. It's ture I would prefer to see this on ps3 or xbox360, but I think this will help Nintendo finally reach out to the 'core gamers. I will say just expect the release date to slip it took nearly 2years for 2ndG to be released as united. I would expect Monster hunter G(wii) (released in japan in jan I think) to arrive first.

I love Monster Hunter and was a bit peed off this has gone to the wii, but upon getting Demon's Souls I couldn't give an arse about it now.

Actually, this coming out early next year will give me a chance to complete Demon's Souls by then. 28 hours in and only on the fourth boss. That game is AWESOME.
