Capcom will be bringing the second game in the outrageously successful Monster Hunter Freedom series to European PSPs in September.
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 will be bigger than the original by up to 50 percent, offering stacks of new content and options, plus new PlayStation Network functionality means you'll also be able to download and add even more life to the game.
The game pits you up against progressively more fierce creatures in wild and varied environments, while letting you customise and advance your characters' skills and abilities as you journey through the game. You can face scores of quests alone, or you can use the handheld's wireless multiplayer to team up with three friends and battle grizzly-nasties together.
The first game sold more than 2.4 million copies in Japan, making it the most successful PSP game ever there, boiling down to about one game for every five handhelds sold. The sequel has since smashed records that the original set, by shifting more than 700,000 games in its opening week.
Monster Hunter Freedom launched last year in Europe to above average reviews, being perhaps slightly difficult, whilst also having camera and control frustrations. You can find our review elsewhere on the site.

I think that 2.4 million is for all previous Monster Hunter games across the PSP and PS2, rather than just Monster Hunter portable. Still pretty impressive though.

The first was absolutely the most underrated PSP game ever, it just gives and gives after the admittedly horrific learning curve and terrible first few missions.
Multiplayer online is a must this time |

On a more positive note I bought Daxter yesterday and so far its excellent.

Really? please go on, im interested too :)" Well whats to say, hardly any loading (always a good thing on PSP hehe). Graphics and animation are quite lovely. You have to use the analogue nub but thankfully so far that hasn't proven too bad. Its good fun but not very hard. Although there should be a reasonable challenge in collecting everything (if that floats your boat). Its pretty much an old-school platformer e.g. the combat is very simple and the AI is virtually non existant. But its good fun and doesn't suffer from the usual bane(s) of PSP games (crap camera, broken controls, eternal loading). So in summary good game (now only 20 quid) if you liked Jak and Daxter I'm fairly certain you'll love this. |

Yet another PSP game which might make me buy the console.
There seems to be lots of these, but no single killer app which makes me think I need one. |

The AI is superior to the majority of games. Have you even played this great game any further than the tutorials, you knob.
