MOH has multiple playable characters

A few MOH details ahead of previews.

EA's new Medal of Honor game features multiple playable characters, according to the UK's Official Xbox Magazine.

A teaser for the new issue, out this week, also reveals that players will be able to shoot out lights, use night-vision, sprint and knife as a melee attack, "similar to Call of Duty".

The new Medal of Honor is set in Afghanistan and focuses on Tier 1 Operators, several of whom have helped developer EA Los Angeles in its quest for authenticity. "Tier 1" is a US special forces designation that means they're pretty wicked at being special forces.

A recent trailer, said to be "100 per cent in-game footage" by MOH's executive producer, also showed vehicles.

The game's due out for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this autumn.

As long as the melee in this game is better than it is in COD for attacking those ****ing dogs, I'll be happy.

Wait for the dog to bite, my ****ing arse!

    "similar to Call of Duty".

Why don't they just put that on the box and be done with it.

Shocking news, next you'll be telling us it has 'different guns' and 'a nice selection of hats'.
  • Spekingur #8 2 years ago

You know, I would like a nice selection of hats, to be honest.

this is so innovative so far that next they will be saying it has real time weapon swap.

To advance the genre It needs to feature, and feature well: destructible\interactive scenery, customisable guns in SP (by way of a pre-mission 'load out' screen where appropriate), a decent cover system, decent physics and world objects to manipulate to make traps (which the enemy can do too)...lets face it, it's not going to be very original, so it may aswell make use of these things instead of being a COD copy that plays slightly differently.

Also, why not use your gun as a melee weapon, and use the knife from behind for stealth kills? Pistol whip them!

I spose being able to go night vision and shoot out lights could work if they design the levels well enough.

The FPS genre has been stagnating throughout the time of the COD dominance, EA looks to be building Medal of Honour to take back the real-world wartime FPS crown and I for one hope they succeed. Infinity Ward got us into this mess with the first two COD games and hopefully when Medal of Honour beats them at their own game they'll step up to the plate and innovate their way back to the top of the pile.

    Wishful thinking I know.

Oh great another COD... why do they have to have multiple characters, cant they just have one and be done with it...
  • bad09 #13 2 years ago

Er...those calling COD copy etc. You do know COD "copied" MOH first don't you?
  • chrisola #14 2 years ago

yes. but the point still stands, as COD was the first to jump into the more modern war style and now MOH are simply following them.

MOH could take place at any point since WW2 to now, MOH:Vietnam, MOH:Gulf or whatever, but it seems they've chosen to follow the COD series.

    @Bad09

Silly goose, Infinity Ward was a significant part behind the best Medal of Honor game, Allied Assault. They just split off and made their own studio after seeing what a bucket load of cash EA made. So yes, if this MoH game is going to do everything CoD does(I'm going to bet it'll even look similar) it's just going to be another option. But no word on 60 fps.

    That's a new concept
    Melee and knife attacks
Awesome attempt at pushing the genre forward guys !
