MOH Airborne PC/360 demos

Chute you buy it?

EA has released playable PC and Xbox 360 demos of Medal of Honor Airborne ahead of its 7th September release.

The 360 demo is up on Marketplace now and will occupy 972MB of enemy space, while the PC one is greedily eyeing up 1304MB.

According to Major Nelson, the 360 one features the first four objectives of Operation Husky (the Allied invasion of Sicily).

Whatever's in either, MOH Airborne on the whole revises the World War II shooter's traditional run-and-gun approach by having you parachute into levels, allowing you to target certain objectives and avoid the same experience if you get blown to shreds quickly.

It actually works very well, as demo fans are reporting, and you can read more about its methods in our Medal of Honor Airborne first impressions.

PC and 360 versions are due out on 7th September, but the PS3 version is currently TBC.

    Meh imo also:p

Really average stuff. But I don't like WO2 shooters to begin with. No aliens or guys in diversuits.

It's OK. Looks nice, slightly odd controls, bit confusing to get to your objectives.
Call Of Duty and Brothers In Arms do this MUCH better IMO - at least it's not Hour Of Victory again!

disagree, although i am a big fan of WW2 games I have never got on with any of the MOH console games but i really enjoyed the demo of Airborne, also liking the up and down lean as well as left and right and the on the fly weapon upgrades. Controls and movment feel solid enough not sure about crosshair style though. (edit - or my spelling)

I thought I'd be bored with this but I found it surprisingly good fun. Nice chaotic feeling during the fights and thesound and atmosphere is spot on.

Was sorry when the demo was over, so thats a good sign.

Another not so great MoH game =(
Imo this franchise peaked with MoH:AA (the original game, not the weak expansion). Everything since has been average at best and disastrous at worst.

Should be a good time-waster while waiting for COD4. On my shopping list anyway.

The lack of anti-aliasing makes it look ugly if played back to back with a game that does have it (like I did with Lost Planet - then this demo).

Wonder how many times the floating Text at the start of the brief is going to be in games now?

Really liked the demo, gameplay wise one of the best MOH games since the first one.

Doesn't seem to cope too well when you do something it doesn't expect. To see what I mean parachute straight on top of the building with the 4 AA guns. You can see the fire from the guns but the guns are not there till you get quite close.

Sounds like a suicide mission but head for the back corner with cover, and then give a liberal sprinkling of grenades in both directions.

Also thought muzzle flash is a bit bright and off putting, but perhaps that’s more realistic? I have no idea personally, as the only guns I have used extensively are double barrelled shotguns during day light - Clay pigeon shooting not bank robbing by the way!

    MEH - Airborne, then?

Never liked the MoH series, but thought this was good fun. I like the non-linearity of it. Couldn't care less whether it takes palce in WWII or in the year 2357. It's the gameplay that counts.

Have the 'meh' brigade actually played it? I had become jaded with the MoH series, but this demo really impressed me.

Yep, for 10 minutes. Was really put off by all the tearing and glitching during the parachuting, the lousy controls while doing that didn't help either.

On the ground, I found it bland, dark and seeing all the nazi's running around gave me a deja-vu. WO2 shooters can keep it for me.

Well that's the most rubbish 1.3gb of bandwidth I've used lately. Can't they try to be either realistic and a challenge, or fun? As it is, it's neither. BLINDING muzzleflash, rubbish guns, confusing movement w/ the leaning etc. It gave me a medal for marksmanship at a point where I'd given up trying to aim and was just randomly spraying Thompson fire in the general direction of Italians. A good idea wasted, this is.
