Medal of Honor 360 beta "coming soon"

To pre-orderers.

The Xbox 360 beta of upcoming shooter Medal of Honor is "coming soon", EA has promised.

Only those who pre-order the game will be sent invites, although EA has committed to extending the 360 beta to ensure "Xbox 360 players have ample time to play and provide feedback for the final product".

The news comes as the beta enters phase two on PC and PS3.

EA's sent out more invites to PC and PS3 owners, so if you missed out before, now's your chance.

"We would like to extend a gracious thank-you to all of the PS3 and PC players for sharing their candid feedback on Medal of Honor and for pointing out areas of improvement," said executive producer Greg Goodrich.

"This is the beauty of a beta - your feedback will make the game better for everyone.

"Unfortunately, we have experienced a delay with the beta on the Xbox 360. To the Xbox 360 community, we say thank you for your patience. We are working to fix the issues that have caused this delay. We are eager to get the game up and running and look forward to receiving your constructive and candid feedback which will certainly help ensure the game exceeds expectations this fall."

If you're lucky enough to have nabbed a key, redeem it on the official site.

Medal of Honor will launch on 12th October for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Head over to Dan Whitehead's preview for impressions of the multiplayer beta.

It does not need a beta. Its already available.

I don't know where Greg Goodrich has experienced this 'patience' from Xbox 360 players. I've also been waiting for the 360 beta and checking the blog posts on the MOH site, and pretty much most of the comments are from irate 12 year olds who can't be patient, so resort to calling the Dev team 'fags' and threatening to cancel their pre-order, like that would make any difference.

I feel really sorry for the Dev team who are probably working their arses off to resolve the 360 beta issue, and the only feedback they get is a load of douche bags screaming in capital letters "FUCK YOU EA, DICE SUCKS. I WAS GONNA GET THIS GAME BUT NOW IM CANCELLING MY PRE-ORDER!!"

On a lighter note, I can't wait to get to play this on my 360. :)

Maybe the delay is due to DICE being busy on Midtown Madness 4 (please)?

I've had my key for about a fortnight now. I'm not too bothered about the delay, according to many who have played it, its buggy as hell at the mo. I'll wait till they are happy to release it.

Looks like a load of mince anyway, watered down Battlefield crossed with watered down Call of Duty to make a massive watery mess. It's like playing with the afterbirth and forgetting about the real baby.

So no beta unless one pre-orders the game then? I find it hard to read the subtitle from the quote given, though I'll trust Eurogamer on such facts.

Anyhow Bad Company's multiplayer beta is what got me to pre-order the game, this seems a bit "the other way round".

Then again, Bad Company is so good, I'll probably pass on this. Shame though as Dice working on both this plus a Vietnam expansion is probably the reason there are no "real" map upgrades for BC 2. Don't get me wrong, the maps are brilliant, balanced and perfectly designed and I am still having a lot of fun with them. Something new couldn't hurt though.

Unless they pull an Activision and ask 15 euro's for it. Funny how the first map pack was all over the news in selling millions, and we never quit heard anything about the second. Usually it's the previous model/game/release of something that is indicative of the sales of a next one. First map pack doing fantastic and the second mediocre says more about the first probably.

    Darn..went off topic there...sorry : )

What's the story with Midtown Madness, do they own the franchise now?

with watered down Call of Duty

To be honest COD (MW2) was such a mess perhaps it needed watering down some rather than its crappy far featched out of this world story and scripted mess that it was. I will take a watered down game any day to paying full price for MW3.

I was looking forward to this, but I think being able to play as the Taliban with AK-47's killing American/British troops is perhaps a bit too close to home. However, the Medal of Honour team have generally handled these things with respect in the past, so we'll see. Also the loss of environment distruction is a huge step backwards.
