Modern Warfare Wii co-op detailed
Plus: 30fps, Conduit-style controls.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for Wii features a co-operative mode where a second player can pick up a remote and start brapping at any time.
Executive producer Daniel Suarez likens the Squad Mate concept to "Super Mario Galaxy's support mode" on Kotaku.
The second player can fire at enemies with the remote, pointing a different-coloured reticule to player one's, although he or she can't keep dropping fools when the main player is zoomed in for sniping.
Otherwise Modern Warfare for Wii, which is due out on 10th November, is a feature-complete port, including the requisite multiplayer modes and content. It even has host migration online and runs at a solid 30fps.
Controls are fully changeable too. "Since Conduit people want to be able to customise their controls," Suarez told Kotaku. "So we've given them the developer's toolbox. You can change everything."
Also out on 10th November, of course, is Modern Warfare 2, which we saw for all of two minutes during gamescom. Short but sweet.

Metroid Prime's graphics are cartoonish looking (but very lovely all the same), the environments are more enclosed with long corridors and doors separating the different areas plus there's nowhere near as many enemies to shoot as a typical CoD game. That's because the Metroid Prime games aren't first-person shooters as such, there's a big emphasis on exploration and puzzle solving which means the game doesn't have to keep throwing dozens and dozens of enemies at you to keep you entertained.

*edit* Er, forget that: it wouldn't be nearly as much fun as watching said lone player try to point two wiimotes AND move around with the nunchuk...

Multiple gunners from the same viewpoint is what I've been suggesting for The Conduit too, after all even if the framerate couldn't support two views simultaneously adding a second cursor and a few more bullets won't cause a big hit.
It's funny how the Wii is reversing the trend of making console controls completely locked though I'm not sure this whole "make your own controls" approach is without flaws, The Conduit got away with terrible default controls and I suspect many people don't bring the patience to screw with that or the knowledge to understand all the different sliders.
It is good that Call of Duty: MW2 is coming out on the Wii.
You got that wrong, MW1 is coming and they're saying if it sells well they'll make MW2 for the Wii as well (presumably by the time MW3 arrives on other systems).
The Metroid Prime games, being Nintendo exclusives, were designed around the limitations of the Gamecube and Wii. CoD: MW2 is clearly a current gen multiformat game that the devs have managed to get running on the Wii so it's no surprise that it doesn't measure up to the exclusive games.
Still a very shoddy result. They have to remake everything anyway so they can just as well make it good.

As for CoD:MW, I assume that the core game is identical to the original so it may be that the devs have had to compromise the graphical quality and framerate in order to keep the same large open areas and number of enemies on-screen? Regardless, CoD: MW was not designed with the Wii in mind, which was my original point.

And besides, Metroid might have been running far better but I bet there's a lot less actually going on in the Metroid world in terms of enemy AI alone which the Wii can't devote time to make look as pretty as Metroid.

Because of these new games. I don't see enough people who are willing to buy such an old game for the Wii. Especially when it's technically dont even try to take advantage of the Wii graphics. Yes the graphics are better than PS2 or PSP are capable of, but even the gamecube could show this graphics.
There are so many graphically astonishing games for the Wii on their way ... so no, activision this MW for the Wii is not a hit.
