Modern Warfare 2 DLC in spring
Energy drink outs map pack.
Had enough of Modern Warfare 2 yet, Man From The Future? Then you want to be thinking ahead to those downloadable maps, some of which are out next spring according to an energy drink. (Is this a bit surreal?)
IGN reports that an energy drink with a MW2 tie-in has a list of competition prizes printed on the side that includes "5,000 MW2 Map Pack codes - planned release Spring 2010".
That rather suggests that one of the map packs for Modern Warfare 2 will be released in spring, don't you think?
There's no word on whether that's the first map pack, or even whether it's one of the Xbox 360 timed exclusives, but we're chatting to various Pepsi bottles and Red Bull cans to try and find out more.
Modern Warfare 2, by the way, is due out for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 10th November.

I tend to buy many energy drinks on breaks while at work!

I really hate the 'extra map pack' dlc type of stuff i really feels like you are paying a lot for very little. New campaigns, story modes, etc... i don't mind paying for. Maps always feel like i'm being milked for more and more money.
/Burnout Paradise has really shown how DLC should be done...
/Is still an idiot who buys the maps pack though , doh!

4-6 hours gameplay? Are you stupid?
I love when people pretend to know that a game is rubbish before they've played it (or even seen much of its gameplay for that matter).
BTW guys... very often games have an RRP of £49.99, yet they sell at £39.99 in high street stores. Why it is common belief that this means MW2 is going to sell at its RRP of £54.99 I don't know.

[edit]
And as for 4 - 6 hours gameplay, I could happily spend 4 hours in multiplayer in one night in MW:1

People think this will sell at £54.99 because of COD4. I vividly remember me and a friend visiting Game, Gamestation, HMV, Blockbusters and even Indie shops and COD4 was £54.99 in each shop. It held that price for a long while too.
Savvy games consumers will hunt down for the cheapest deal. That's beside the point however. Even if you manage to find it cheaper it's not as cheap as it could be if it had a standard RRP.

They're releasing map pack 2 in the fall of 2010 and tying it with a new fragrance: Murderous Intent (for Men).

I can't say I've shared the same retail experience as you did with COD4... everywhere I went it was no more than £39.99 (standard edition) on the day of release. I don't remember paying more than £44.99 for my special edition. Maybe I was hallucinating. But I know that although MW2 has an RRP of £54.99, it doesn't mean it will be sold at such a high price in high street stores or web based stores. For the most part, it's just seen as an excuse for the elitist wankers to come out of their holes and bitch and moan about a game they've not yet played. For some strange reason, this is how they get their kicks... thinking they're bettering themselves by slammin a video game.

Yes, but it was preceded by a large amount of negativity which is really what I wanted to respond to. If you're expecting it to be 4 hours long, play it on a harder difficulty. But it's a bit silly commenting on here that it is FACT that the game only lasts 4 hours, don't you think?

Even on Veteran, the game will unlikely last longer than 10 hours or so.
He clearly stated to have no interest in the multiplayer, which is what the real life of the game is.
I certainly understand his point.

If you (not YOU... but you get me) are the type of person who will buy a game normally at £39.99 only to play it through once, on one of the easier difficulties and not spend time doing every activity available in the singleplayer while avoiding the multiplayer then I have no sympathy. I like to get my money's worth and MW2 will cater to me and others like me. Maybe faelnor and others like him should hope for a cut down version of the game... or simply avoid buying it.

Repeat after me...IW is wholly owned by Activision, literally....IW is wholly owned by Activision, literally.
The only cutting being done in that relationship would be by Activision.

Damn, if that's for real then that sucks. I thought it was like the Bungie/Microsoft relation. To be honest, COD:MW2 will only be filler for me till Battlefield Bad Company 2. I'll prob not pick COD up till its sub £35.

They've been owned by them for some time now. Same goes for Treyarch.
