Modern Warfare 2 demo is unlikely
Infinity Ward focusing on full game.
Infinity Ward has told fans not to expect a Modern Warfare 2 demo before launch.
"No plan for a demo before launch. The entire team is focused on polish all the way up to ship of the full game," Tweeted the developer.
A public multiplayer beta is also unlikely, and will only be offered should internal tests not prove adequate.
Modern Warfare 2 is the biggest game of the year, and appears to be living up to its reputation in all areas. Head over to our hands-on impressions of the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, written earlier this month, to find out why.

No bother at the price you want I'd advise you not to expect a launch purchase from me either. COD is good, but it's not that good....

but it does ruin the experience a bit when you have already played a level from the game a month before hand
saying that i would still download it if they released one so its probably best they dont.

I almost want the game to fail just to punish them for their arrogance.

cocky with predicted sales figures?
When was the last time COD 4 dropped out of the All Formats Top 20?...Exactly.
It's going to sell hideous amounts and they can charge what they want for it because you will still buy it!

Actually I won't buy it... I'm not a big fan of MP and the SP campaigns in the COD games have always left me feeling very "meh". As a gamer who judges the value of a game mainly on single-player content, the CoD games are sorely lacking in atmosphere, story and design (IMHO).
And just because the last game sold gazillion trillions, doesn't mean the new one will. Look at diminishing returns for Tomb Raider, Medal of Honor, etc - all previously held to be the second coming of gaming, and all of which eventually crashed and burned after the developers and publishers got cocky by releasing constant new versions with only incremental changes in game design.
So now we have Call of Duty, proclaimed to be the second coming of gaming, with yearly updates, and only incremental...
Point made

Now if other publishers were to follow suit with Forza 3, Dragon Age, GT5, FFXIII, etc. I would start to get worried.
Let's hope this is one-off eh.

We buy their games and make them a success and they don't have the common decency to give us a demo. That'd be like fucking someone in the ass and not giving them a reacharound.

I'm not buying it either, it looks alright but certainly nothing I haven't seen before and the MP looks too much like Unreal for my liking.
Anyway that's just me, my point being that COD4 still sells week on week enough to keep it in the top 20, MW2 will do the same, they can almost smell everyones money!
For what it's worth IW are very talented people and have made great games, I loved COD 2!

Is it? I mean, I know that stupid special edition is pretty big but I'm sure Rock Band: The Beatles - Limited Edition Premium Bundle has it beat.

Cod 4 should have come with a free session from rentokil there were that many bugs in the game.

Unlike a lot of those series though, the main developer only releases a new game every two years. If you're a huge fan then buy every year, if not then just pick up the Inifinty ward developed games once every two years - it's a brilliant business plan that stops the main developer getting too fatigued.
I pretty much skipped WaW, simply playing the single-player through once and then trading it in - but I'm keen for some traditional multiplayer shooter action and MW2 is certainly going to provide that!

I seem to remember a recent hands-on on EG with the multiplayer that says it has actually been reworked quite a bit with perk loadouts and things.
I don't care anyway, I'm just waiting for Bioshock 2, Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2 and Fallout: New Vegas.

In fact they are so confident in its sales potential that they raised the price to £55...
- and yeah, by 'them' i do mean Activision
Buy it or don't. it's your call.
I won't be, because I refuse to signal to Actibastard that I sanction their Price gouging.
Im not saying it wont be a good game, in fact if I can find a reasonably priced pre-owned/ebay copy I'll jump on it in a heartbeat.
but I doubt it would be wise for me to hold my breath while doing so ^^

if you don't want people to try it before they spend the big bucks, and realize they're not gonna enjoy it, or you simply can't be bothered because you don't give a hoot, by all means don't release a demo. it's your game, you do what you want with it, and I'm gonna wait for reviews and a play session from and impatient friend's copy before even starting to consider purchasing it.
but don't be bu!!§#!tting people with "you don't need to try it, because instead of wasting time with a demo, we're gonna make the game perfect".
oh, and by the way, nobody cares about the single player campaign. once you get the multiplayer code properly, you're done
@gdeagle: jedi outcast demo made up my mind about a game I felt "meh" about. too bad the demo really didn't represent the final game, since you're stuck without a lightsaber at the beginning hehe. and speaking of that demo, THAT was a demo. it wasn't any in-game level, it was a short and sweet mock up of what the game offered. top notch.
