Dead Space is awesome... I've been taking my time with the 360 version and feel that I am near the end now I'm on level 10 (or 11). Fantastic game and very atmospheric too. Definitely one I'd like to see a sequel to. Can we have Issac or whoever you play as in the next one actually speak this time though... seems stupid to have a third-person game where you're clearly playing as someone else but not have that person speak. Ever. It's about my only real criticism of the game. Make it so, EA.

Mirrors edge was a great game, with its flaws, that could hopefully be ironed out in the next iteration.
Dunno where all the praise for dead space came from, i gave up after it became a repetitive chore , boring enemies and the only thing that was slightly creepy was the audio. I turned the sound off actually for one whole chapter, and laughed my way through it as it became somewhat camp. Then i gave it back to my mate. but yeah more mirrors edge plz! |

I fail to see why Dead Space has been getting so much praise too. I found it very repetitive, I really couldn't care less about Issac or his hunt for his girlfriend because he never conveyed any emotion, and all the games ideas (apart from the Zero G sections) are all derivative of other better games.
In fact I find mentioning Left 4 Dead as if it's an EA game quite blasphemous. |

Ive got a suggestion - make the sequels to Dead Space 1st person and Mirrors Edge 3rd person.
Admittedly I have only played the demos of each (they are both on my Christmas list). But the Mirrors Edge did my head in after playing for 30 minutes to the point that I almost felt ill. |

Dead Space was ok. My main gripe was about the upgrading of equipment, that you need to spend a valuable node for a blank space. Why couldn't every space be an upgrade instead of a waste? That and the fact I can kill everything with a basic Line Gun.
Mirrors Edge was good.. but it lacked alot of story, why was the government bad? The city was clean, tidy, no crime, yes a bit too controlling but it didn't say what they have done etc, what were we carrying in the bags for the missions? It was just a pretty jumping game with a bit of action. |

I enjoyed Dead Space 1 more than say Gears of War 1. There's definitely a small lack of variety, but I imagine the budget for unproven IP is curtailed somewhat in this risk adverse business. I think a sequel is well in order.

Ive enjoyed Dead space alot and played through it 3 times now!
although, colour me surprised that EA are turning ALL their new IP in to franchises! |

Just bought L4D and honestly can not wait till it arrives (as i couldnt find the fucking thing anywhere in the shops). Having played the demo to death with 3 equally excitable mates...getting the full game means its gonna be a good chrimbo this year!! Hate the fact that EA are banging drums about it though....should be nothing to do with them. Its Valves baby!!!

Dead Space is amazing,simple but incredibly atmospheric, a game worthy of a sequel. Mirror's Edge isn't brilliant, but it really has to be experienced - a level editor, multiplayer, an open world & improved combat could make the sequel one of the best games ever.

I completed Dead Space a couple of days ago and I think it is excellent. Will go back for the remaining trophies right after I get the platinum one in Uncharted ;-)
That said... "We'll be looking at some issues around the design to make sure that strong IP is married with strong business." ...probably means they did not find enough things to sell at $5 for Mirror's Edge like they did for Dead Space and are planning to remedy this for the sequel. Especially as the paid DLC for DS has the potential to ruin the game. I'm really glad I resisted the urge to put on the obsidian suit I downloaded for free from the PS store, as it probably would have sucked all of the tension right out of it. |

@Darren really, I like the silent lead, my problem was the rest of the cast, as with the recent Tomb Raider games I want them to ditch the rubbish dialogue and side characters,lead all alone, in pure silence, like Metroid - make it like that and change the rubbish monster designs and Dead Space could be a great game.
Mirror's Edge - pipes are evil, ditch em, running from cops is fun, and flows well, running into cops is not fun, and breaks up the flow, so yeah no combat for the sequel please DICE.

@retibra not sure who that was aimed at, but I for one am not a fan of Bioshock,real nice atmosphere in the opening moments of the demo but I was put off once the cack combat kicked in and the vita chamber respawned me at the bottom of the stairs as they all came rushing at me, died over and over. Lame.

Dead Space was game of the year for me. The default difficulty level was far too easy so some coasted thru the game and didnt think much of it as a result. Some didnt understand how great the combat system was. You have to maim your enemies first or you will die within seconds. At higher levels of difficulty ammo is scarce and every bullet counts. A+++

Although I enjoyed Dead Space more.. as it was less (for want of a better word) "pompous" Sure the story was better in bioshock.. but the gameplay is better in deadspace.. And personally i play games for the GAME not the story (if i want a story - i'll read a book) |
