Midway plans new Mortal Kombat News

Midway's latest financial report has revealed the publisher plans to create new "next-gen" instalments in the Mortal Kombat and Blitz franchises.
"We also expect to release several as-yet unannounced titles such as next generation versions of our hit franchises Blitz and Mortal Kombat, and two exciting new ambitious open world games," Midway boss David Zucker said in a statement.
"We intend to give more details on our 2008 release schedule in the near future."
The report also highlighted a slip for hugely anticipated shooter Unreal Tournament 3, which is now set to arrive in 2008. However Mark Rein, the boss of UT3 developer Epic Games, has since come out and told fans there is a chance the title could ship on PC and PS3 before the end of the year.

Concentrate on the fighting please and not some silly Kombat Kart or whatever it's called. Bollocks. I want Mortal Kombat and I want it done properly! :P

Do some good work on them custom fatalities, next-gen consoles should give you lots of fun possibilities there! :)

On the MK front: I hope they cut the rooster back to, I dunno, 10 - 15 fighters, completely revamp the fighting mechanics (no more "FW, FW, DWN, kick" crap pAlease!, I'd like more fluidity, thank you), loose the cartoonish graphics (new Gfx engine is a given), more realistic blood, more serious tone overall would be nice (some might rightly argue MK "soul" would be lost this way, but I'm all for it) , bring back Fatalities (3 per character would be lovely) etc etc.
Gosh, they have lots of work to do. |
