^^^ Nob.

Looks good though, never been a massive fan of this franchise, and they do seem to be jumping on the "Lets make a massive free roaming city racer" band wagon but I will be holding out.

BUT do they have |V|070R81k35'z?

After the technical crock of shit that was GTA4, I'll never look at another rockstar game, let alone buy one.

Did we play the same GTA4? It really wasn't technically shite, a whole new physics engine that throws up new suprises everytime you play the game, I think technically it is one of the most innovative titles of the year, easily. Yeah it uses the traditional GTA style of play but behind the scenes the game engine is amazing.

Rant over :)

Is this GTA4 without the misisons and shootting and more racing added? sounds good to me.

Yes, it managed those physics. However it had to drop the framerate to almost single figures to achieve it which, for me, ruined any enjoyment. It's personal opinion of course, but I thought GTA4 was abysmal.

Think GTA4 was hyped to death by the media and sychophantic reviewers. But other than that I'd give it a solid 9/10 but didn't like the racing parts one bit so I'll be giving this a miss.

Midnight club 2 on PS2 was excellent, but Dub edition was complete cock.

Full of ads from what I remember.

This looks promising, mind you I still have a while to go in Race Driver

farticus, did we play the same GTA? I never had slowdown once in the entire 100% completion of the game. Does the PS3 version have slowdown then, or was it on 360?

I can only assume you have a 'special' eye/brain connection then. Choppy does not even begin to describe the framerate of GTA4. It's bad on the 360, and worse on the PS3.

@Syphaa - "a whole new physics engine that throws up new suprises everytime you play the game,"

Ones like:
Is my car really that light?
If I hit that hard enough I should jump it.
Why is the steering shit? (the cars rotate around the middle, notice the back end moves in the opposite direction that you turn)
How come I'm driving on a skid pan?
Why does the handbrake just spin me round?

I don't know why everyone thought the GTA4 physics were good. Rose tinted glasses I think...

@BobsUncle because there's a difference between right for the game and realistic. GTA's was right for the game, not realistic. both are good. For example they didn't model the safety toggle on any guns either but I didn't hear anyone about that.

Last time I checked, Physics was a fairly realistic subject. So if you say you've got a good Physics engine I'd expect it to model physical objects a bit realisticly.

I for one think Burnout has it on lock this year. Played Midnight Club 2 on the PS2, it was great. But I find it really hard to see this outperform Burnout Paradise.

I quite fancy this just so long as they don't bring back those pseudo-'urban' jerkoffs to insult you/tell you what a pimp you are and how you Da Man. Every time I heard "This is Moses, yo" in MC2, I wanted to stab the fat prick in the eye with a screwdriver.

MC 2 was rock hard. Beating the last few races was a real ordeal, but well worth it.

I'm quietly hoping that this game makes up for the slight disappointment of Burnout Paradise, which I think was the weakest game in the series since the first game. Granted that game is getting some interesting updates that will make it better but ultimately the boxed game wasn't all it could have been IMO. Midnight Club: Los Angeles has the potential to be great and I'll admit I did enjoy the previous two instalments on the Xbox.

MC2 was a surprisingly good game.

As for GTA4, all I can say is driving towards those bridges at night, in the rain, with the lights glowing in the distance was fucking awesome.

There were loads of moments like this which where a perfect combination of artistic talent and technical achievement.

@tnt
I HONESTLY never saw any 'terrible' slowdown in the 360 version and the only pop-up I saw in 50 hours of play was usually when first leaving your room when loading a game and once when absolutely canning it round a corner. Did you actually play the game on 360 or just read all the shit about both versions on the internet? It certainly isn't a 60fps game but it was close enough around the 30fps mark to be perfectly playable.

I actually wonder if older 360's are the issue.
