Midnight Club expansion on Xbox Live News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

30 March, 2009

Rockstar has sorted out Midnight Club: Los Angeles' South Central expansion and uploaded it to Xbox Live.

The pack had been delayed due to "an unforeseen bug", but now you can download either the free South Central city expansion, or the premium version, which opens up the new area and populates it with 26 new races and nine new vehicles among many other things.

Both versions are 1.4GB, and the premium version costs 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60). The PS3 version, which has been out for just under a fortnight, is GBP 7.99.

I didn't even know until I was xbox360a saw a whole load of threads about it. Absolutely NOTHING had been said on the Marketplace screen (which is the first place I go and look to see if DLC has come out). WaW is there, The Pitt is there, but there is NOTHING for this unless you go all the way into the MCLA entry on the marketplace and there it is.

I'm especially pissed off as I played for about 2 hours last night and could have been trying out the new cars!

it was on the spotlight dashboard blade on thursday - thats when i downloaded mine. Heres a noob question though.. how do you get on the new content? my game loads up as normal and i'm placed on the same map. Addmittedly i've not really played this game much.. so is the new content just latched onto the existing map and you can travel to it seemlessly in the main game? or is it like the Lost and damned where you would load it up from somewhere specificaly?

Yes, that's exactly how it is.

welshben23 - FIRST" :)

Well done to you welshben, i'm commissioning a 300 foot tall, bronze statue in your honour, to be placed in Cardiff city centre for all to see, you bloody genius you.

Anyone else think the graphics on the new add-on are not as good as the original map? they seem slightly off in comparison

There's hardly any mention on the marketplace. Spotlight - nope (the ancient Cowboy Avatars thing is still there, as is NFS: Shit), Game Marketplace - nope, Explore Game Content/Game Addons it's SEVENTH along. What the hell?

@tinners: Pretty much, the new story missions almost all involve low riders and SUVs which you don't get in the free version.

@bonson: It's a grotty part of town, if that's what you mean.

Also, to all, apparently some of the achievements (specifically the goal attack one) is buggy sometimes, BEWARE!
