Midnight Club DLC out in March News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

25 February, 2009

Rockstar has said that the South Central DLC for Midnight Club: Los Angeles will launch on 12th March.

Available on Xbox 360 and PS3, the content expands the game-map by roughly a third and is completely free.

There's also a premium South Central Content Pack that has plenty of new competitions, races, cars and music to enjoy. A US press release cites a price of USD 9.99, which we suppose would equate to 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60).

The South Central content was accidentally leaked earlier this month; a blooper Microsoft later apologised for.

Fast-eyed and fast-fingered observers noticed a couple of premium vehicle packs added simultaneously, although there's no word on them here. All of the leaked South Central content was removed.

Head over to our Midnight Club: Los Angeles gamepage to find out more.

Will it still be as damn difficult as the main game? Great game idea ruined by random crashes at the last minute

I'm sure I read somewhere that this "expansion" would include a lowering of the difficulty level but don't quote me on it, I might be thinking of a different game.

Love this game! I heard about the difficultly lowering too. Personally haven't found this game to be as hard as everyone makes out tbh. Any news on what the cars are going to be? Some beastly new exotics would be welcome!

Free DLC=(y)

I think there was a patch a few months ago that lowered the difficulty.

I don't really get the difficulty complaint. I picked this game up about a week and a half ago and am really loving it. Granted, I am only a small way "through" the game, but I have won, conservatively, 75% of my races so far. Maybe it gets much more difficult in the coming bits, but at this point I'd label the difficulty as average, at worst. I guess I'll see how it goes moving forward.

Let me reiterate - I'm really enjoying this game. I generally don't care for arcade racers, but this has been more fun for me than any of the Burnout or PGR games were.

edit: Lowered my win rate after playing last night. :)

The reason you lot aren't understanding the difficulty complaint is because they already patched it ages ago - you're already playing the easier version! Sillies!

Well I won't buy it as I still cannot play Midnight Club LA online at all on the PS3. Every other game works fine, I've opened all ports that have been suggested but get disconnected soon after joining an online cruise every time. shame as the game is good and I wanted to try online with my mates but it's no skin off my nose if Rockstar can't be bothered fixing the problem.

Yeah, I have been disappointed by the car list for a while - especially that we're just getting two Range Rovers for the SUV class! Having finished most of the single player mode I am now chomping at the bit for this... shame it seems so quiet online! Protip for those finding it hard: buy a class D car (I bought an Impala) and fit it with level 3 nitro ONLY. The AI will be in similarly nerfed cars and with your nitro and good use of EMP you should have an easier time of it!
