Microsoft reduces DLC prices News

Xbox 360 News by Dan Pearson

5 September, 2008

Microsoft has significantly lowered the price of many popular DLC bundles on Xbox Live as part of a special promotion called Extended Play Download Days.

The packages, listed in full below, are being reduced by varying degrees, offering up to 60 per cent off some of the most popular selections around. Well, Microsoft says they're popular.

Some are clearly going to be of more interest than others. Nobody's blood pressure is going to spike over a GBP 0.51 reduction for an extra Beautiful Katamari level, but The Shivering Isles with a third knocked off will probably send rat-punchers into spasms of ecstasy.

The price changes are active now, and they'll be in place until the end of October.

I've heard the Mass Effect one isn't worth it. Does anyone know if the Lost Oydssey one is worth the money?

"Lost Odyssey packs worth it?"

It's fun because you get to find really cool (powerfull) items. If you didn't finish the main story yet, I'd say it's a must buy, because you'll have a lot of fun with those.
I must warn you though, the last boss is sooooo stupid, as in, "based primarly on luck" kinda fight. Tough..., real tough..., damn prof. K.!

Aye Spanky, I was hoping for that too. It gets rather annoying to spend time getting to a race only to find it its DLC. Plus all the other DLC in it. It just teases you so much :(.

@Doctor_What - you get a new dream, a new ring (that doesn't look all that good anyway) and an item to let you view your dreams at any time (instead of returning to the main menu). Personally I'd say no, not worth the money, but then again I have issues with any DLC that consists of just a few more items for a game, as opposed to actual gameplay content...

yeah... wicker buddy's right, I got that one too. It isn't worth it, it's not gameplay at all. Check out the other one, though...

I've still got a fair way to go through, only on the second disc at the moment. It's a great game but I can never find time to play it. Plus I buy loads of games for no reason, own fault really!

They need to do this more often. Boxed games get discounted over time, but DLC stays fully priced, and they could probably entice a few more people to buy with a price drop. It shouldn't hurt them as long as they don't do it too soon, as all the early adopters will have already purchased.
