Microsoft patching HDMI audio issue

NXE hangover finally cured today.

Microsoft is finally releasing a patch to fix the HDMI audio issue that some Xbox 360 owners have been experiencing since the launch of New Xbox Experience.

Although a large thread on Xbox.com and a temporary workaround popped up immediately after the 19th November release, it's taken Microsoft a while to isolate the problem.

But according to Major Nelson, it now has, in a mandatory dashboard update released at 2am PST this morning (10am GMT). "The update addresses the issue that a few folks were having with audio and their HDMI connection.

"This update will be rolled out to all Xbox Live members around the world over the space of a few hours, so you may not get prompted for the update immediately."

"Thanks for your patience," the post adds. Well, quite.
