Monster Hunter Tri deals revealed

Pre-order your copy, get a free head.

Anyone that pre-orders Wii game Monster Hunter Tri early enough will receive a free head from Capcom. The head of a dragon-like Rathalos creature, to be precise.

Or you can snap-up the Exclusive Edition that contains the Wii Speak accessory, a black Classic Controller, a copy of the game and the head of a sea-dwelling Lagiacrus. This is on sale at GAME for £69.99.

Monster Hunter Tri allows friends to team-up and fight gargantuan monster, killing them for their armour- and weapon-making loot. Sofa-based online co-op may suit a Western audience more readily than in Japan, where the game launched and disappeared quicker than expected - despite a full 40/40 mark from regional magazine Famitsu.

Monster Hunter Tri will be released for Wii on 23rd April.

    I just caught the amazon 30.99 before they raised the price by £5. I still don't think it'll end up 'existing', they'll send me a cancellation email, but it was too good to miss at that price.
  • Gearskin #10 2 years ago

  • VeggieWokker #13 2 years ago

    It's not exclusive to game. It's mentioned on the Belgian Nintendo website and there are no Game stores here. Also, not only do you get a Lagiacrus and, in case you preorder, a Rathalos, but you can also get a Qurupeco head if you register the game on the Nintendo website. I have preordered it on Amazon.co.uk and in a local FNAC store, to make sure I'll get all three.

    Those two massive age ratings boxes ruin the chest, unsurprisingly. And one of them says 12 while the other says 16. Make up your freaking minds between the pair of you!
  • WinterSnowblind #15 2 years ago

    @VeggieWokker
    You have a source on that? I can't seem to find any information about registering on the Nintendo site.

    Monster Hunter Tri, the game everyone is talking about, roars into life across Europe on 23rd April 2010, and hunters that snap up a copy of the game or any bundle early will receive a stunning free Rathalos head figurine.

    No ordinary action game, Monster Hunter Tri features an entire living and breathing ecosystem, where monsters interact authentically and naturally with each other, their environment – and you.

    You play an up-and-coming hunter in a land where humans and monsters co-exist. Your battles with the fearsome creatures you face will be challenging, tactical and you will learn to pick them wisely, respecting the monsters and seeking to defeat them only in order to gain vital items for your quest.

    A story-led single-player mode allows players to immerse themselves into the game’s huge world, and multiplayer modes offer an additional level of excitement. Play co-operatively in a two player split screen mode or team up with friends online and take part in epic battles with enormous monsters. With full Wii Speak compatibility, hunters can share their knowledge of monsters’ weaknesses, discuss hunting strategy in real time, and even cry for help when needed or celebrate after a victorious battle.

    But it's in French. A few hours ago they removed the info about the Rathalos head. I'll upload the picture when I get home, it's on my home pc.
  • FortysixterUK #18 2 years ago

    Clicking on the link at the start of this forum takes you to the Amazon page, but now you can't order the game.
    They have sussed it methinks.
    Cancellation emails en route I suspect
  • VeggieWokker #19 2 years ago

    Here is what the site looked like before they took away the Rathalos info and picture: News Page
    And this is the picture of all three heads: Heads

    @FortysixterUK

    Maybe it was limited stock? Still haven't received a cancellation email.

    /bated breath
  • YenRug #21 2 years ago

    @VeggieWokker

    I take it the French site is now saying similar to the UK one: one bust for pre-ordering, the other bust in the deluxe boxset?

    I think I prefer the Rathalos to the Qurupeco bust, though, with the Qurupeco looking like some kind of demented frog.
  • VeggieWokker #22 2 years ago

    @Yenrug: Actually, they don't mention the preorder anymore. The Qurupeco is a bonus for early registration.
