MGS4's US June release confirmed
Beta test dated too.
Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released in the US on 12th June for PS3.
Elsewhere, Sony revealed that the Metal Gear Online beta test will begin on 21st April and run for "approximately two weeks".
In order to qualify in the US, players will need to pre-order MGS4 once the pre-sale package goes on, er, sale in April.
It will be available in limited numbers, and will include a Metal Gear Saga 2.0 DVD hosting prologue, retrospective, character bios, trailers and a download code for the beta test.
"If additional promotional partners are secured, there is a possibility of making beta access available [to others], but nothing is confirmed at this time," Sony said in a FAQ on its US blog.
Konami has yet to announce the European release date or whether beta access will be available to those of us on this side of the pond, but we're expecting an announcement today.

Why not a BluRay disc?!
Anyway, I suspect that this will reach this side of the 'pond' in the Autumn...perhaps?
And obviously it will cost the figure equivalent, if not more, of the US price. 'Cos God knows why should Sony give UK/Euroland a reprieve and actually treat us with dignity and respect and offer this game at a decent price, not the usual extortion!
