Great value, i will buy it for sure... i've alway's been a MGS fan.

Seems Sony loves Europe as much as Nintendo.

I'm tempted, but it'll just gather dust, not enough time to be replaying 1&2, and I could pick up 3 second-hand for £8.

I've been saying I would pick up a PS3 for MGS4 for years now, and yesterday I finally caved in and did. Getting the "MGS4 on Xbox 360" announcement now would just be a cruel act of synchronicity.

Sounds a good value package...but why no Euro release? Konami have generally been quite good to Europe, especially where MGS is concerned, adding in extra modes and bonus features for the PAL releases. They'd best not start blowing that goodwill now...

I want to buy a new copy of the original(My PS one original lost it's manual and scratched etc), I' surprised they havn't already rereleased it!!!

Hope they'll release it here. Waited with getting MGS3 Subsistence because I hadn't finished MGS2 yet at the time but now can't find it anywhere (new).

This version is on one DVD disc instead of 2 CDs, plus they've fixed the memory card problem so you can save on a PS2 card (IIRC).

I never really got into MGS, I played a few of the VR missions, but never got into the game at all. I'll have to pick up the collection and give it another go.

I cant stand Sony Europe...

It would of been good if they ported Twin Snakes and put that in the bundle as well as the PS1 version.

no, you're not, really bugged me back then. anyword on ps3 compatibility ? it's a shame that ps2 games are not region-free to on ps3, with weak dollar/strong euro i pay about 20 € less as going to the store next door

Twin snakes is turd on a stick. The enhanced graphics are ok, and it's luckily the same basic games as MGS, but everything else about it really terrible. The script's tweaking was bobbins, the voice acting got baffilingly worse and the less said about the stupid cut scenes, the better.

...ah. Yeah, OK, I forgot about that; that sucked ass. Still, part of what was added in the Subsistence package were modes and features that were already available in the Euro version of the original MGS3 anyway, like the Demo Theater, Duel Mode, extra Snake vs Monkey stages etc...doesn't excuse the seven month gap between US and EU releases, though.

Also, it's best not to hold your breath for a Sony release of Twin Snakes ever, given that it was developed in co-operation with Nintendo, and contains a number of Nintendo references in it (Mario statue, Miyamoto portrait etc.). Not that you're missing much IMO; I always felt Twin Snakes was fairly half-assed, adding little beyond a disappointing graphical update, new moves that the levels obviously weren't designed to accommodate, and some OTT cutscene choreography that felt largely out of place and out of character. Stick with the original, I say...

Of course, a MGS4 on Xbox 360 announcement tomorrow would be a complete bomb shell. Fun too.

You might want to check that first link again. MGS is the PS1 version, and comes on 2 CDs. Pity.

Why not release the bundle with Twin Snakes rather than the PSOne version of Metal Gear: Solid?
