MGS Portable Ops expansion News

Konami has taken the wraps off a fresh expansion pack for the excellent Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops game on PSP.

It was unveiled at the PlayStation Premier event in Tokyo, and features new online multiplayer stages as well as new characters and comrade-recruitment methods - plus a fresh new single-player experience called Infinity Mission.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops+ - yes it's a rubbish name - will be sold as both a standalone product and bundled together with the original across Japan in September, according to IGN.

So instead of calling it susbsistence, substance, substitute or Shalalalala they just decided to + at the end.

Found Portable ops in Virgin for £15 couldn't say no, and I'm lovin' it so far.

lol @ power rangers at the end.
I'm gonna miss Kojima when he retires from the series. :(

I can't be bothered to finished the first one, let alone an add-on.
It's a pity - MPO looks like an MGS game, but it feels like such a rush-job. All the "bulding up your army" stuff is so clunky and boring.

The presentation was slick and nice but wrestling with the hopeless controls killed this game for me in a big way.

Snake Eater taught Konami one important lesson: critical acclaim doesn't sell boundary pushing games, and that's why they'll be giving us the EA Sports treatment from now on.

Woah, lots of negative vibes here dude. MGS:PO is a brilliant game. The army building aspect was pretty good if you ask me (I know you didn't) and the presentation and story was brilliant. The controls were clunky at times, but it was Metal Gear in your hand! That alone was enough to sell it to me, and I wasn't disappointed.
The only thing I don't like is how long it takes to unlock Ocelot and Eva.

Don't get me wrong, I really tried to like it, and there were parts I really enjoyed, but I just couldn't "get" it. I might try again, because I feel like there's something wrong with me. By the way, I love the home console versions, but this one, I don't know, it doesn't do it for me.

I just can't make myself like this expansion, and I think it's because I made the mistake of buying this before the original MPO. I like having a story, and this has none, plus I hate the Stamina system - why make a game where being slow and stealth is advised, then set up what is basically a timer to stop me?

I can't be bothered with the army building either, as most are useless. My main man Dingo rules, as does the Naked Snake himself. Everyone else is just there to make up numbers.
