MGS hints at more Shadow Complex

Jobs going on Natal, 343 teams too.

Microsoft is seeking talented people to bolster the Natal team at MGS and help "drive the success of Gears of War and Shadow Complex".

That's our first glimpse of a future for Chair's triumphant Xbox Live Arcade game. Mind you this isn't surprising given its critical (9/10 on Eurogamer) and commercial success.

Even less surprising is news of more Gears of War, a series Epic has long talked of expanding.

The Natal jobs, listed on Develop, seek talent for nearly every facet of the operation.

There are also various positions going at 343 Industries, the internal Halo studio run by Frank O'Connor formerly of Bungie.

Excellent news. Shadow Complex is my favourite XBLA game ever, and a welcome return for the ye olde Metroidvania genre.

Yeah, SC is amazing - glad they're probably making more.

    Brilliant news!!

Only thing is, I thought Epic did these games?

    "Brilliant news!!

So did I at first but it was Chair Entertainment, Epic published but I think they own part of it or something. Not sure though.

No, I think Epic bought Chair Entertainment after they made Undertow (quite good) wih the Unreal Engine 3.

So then Chair (as part of Epic) developed Shadow Complex which (I think) was published by Microsoft Game Studios (MGS - or Metal Gear Solid, as i like to call them)...

I always read MGS as Metal Gear Solid, and when followed by Shadow Complex, I immediately read it as Shadow Moses.

@ OnlyMe: Good. That means it wasn't just me who thought that title was utterly confusing.

How's about some new IP, Microsoft?

And some new IP that isn't Natal related for all us inferior traditionalists.

    Sigh.

Am I the only who thought of Hideo Kojima after seeing the name of the article?

Shadow Complex is a new IP. Unless you just want a "new name", which more often than not it's what happens.

"How's about some new IP, Microsoft? "

What a ridiculous statement. There has been ONE game. Unless you are so unrealistic and stupid to expect that every single game will be a new IP.

Fuck all that, where's my Shadow Complex PC version?

Love the 360 version to bits (Super Metroid is my favourite game of all time and SC is a worthy successor), but I want to see people mix it up with the unreal editor and suchlike.

As long as they make it longer I'll be happy!

I love Super Metroid and SOTN, but as much as I'd like that kind of gameplay to return to the big consoles, I thought Shadow complex was simplistic (despite its name) and shallow, and I didn't enjoy it all that much.

most overrated game of the year, and that's saying something..

That's what I loved about it. I'm currently fiddling my way through SOTN, and whilst a good game - I really don't see how people have the patience to do it without using a guide at some point.

then use a guide, no need to cheapen the experience for the rest of us.

Shadow Complex "most overrated game of the year"?! Have I missed a load of gushing hype? I'd have said it was a sleeper hit.
