Metroid Prime trilogy coming to Wii News
GameCube Wii News by Ellie Gibson
Nintendo is to release all the Metroid Prime games on one disc for the Wii.
The Metroid Prime Trilogy will launch on 24th August in the US. It will feature updated versions of GameCube titles Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, complete with Wii motion controls. The compilation will also include Wii game Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, first released in 2007.
The trilogy disc is being developed by Retro Studios, the team behind all three original games. In addition to new Wii motion controls in the series' first two entries, Metroid Prime Trilogy also promises a "unified main menu," a new achievement-style system, in-game rewards, and widescreen support.
A Wii version of the original Metroid Prime was released exclusively in Japan earlier this year under the "Wii de Asobu" label - known as "New Play Control!" over here. Nintendo declined to comment on whether the Metroid Prime Trilogy will be released in Europe, with a spokesperson simply stating, "We've not announced any plans at this stage."
