Metroid: Other M UK date narrowed

Magazine advert spills beans.

Wii action game Metroid: Other M will be out in the UK in September, Nintendo has confirmed.

The news was first reported by MCV, which spotted the release window in an advert in its own magazine. Fancy that.

Nintendo told us the September release window is accurate, which makes it all official like.

It means European gamers will be able to get their Samus Aran freak on only a few weeks after our American gaming cousins; Other M is out in the states on 31st August.

Metroid: Other M is the first game in the popular series to be developed by a third-party developer, Team Ninja.

In truth it's more of a collaboration between the Ninja Gaiden developer and IP-owner Nintendo.

Last week designers Yoshio Sakamoto and Yosuke Hayashi told Eurogamer about their desire to leave their own mark on the famous series, which they hope to do by approaching familiar elements in new ways and investing in the character and story of Samus Aran.

...and it looks awesome! I really can't wait as I love the Metroid Series. I didn't get on with the Prime deviation, but this looks strangely like a return to form.

Looks like its going to be a busy couple of months for game releases from september :)

I'm worried, impressions so far say the story they encountered was awful both in content and delivery and Sakamoto said it's going to be more linear to accomodate the story while people also complained that the d-pad is not a good control solution for the game.

fear not, if it runs well on Dolphin, you'll be able to use a 360 pad. Works a treat for SMG2 ;)

@KDR_11k, I really like the look of this, but I'm worried about the d-pad too since really struggling with it on that recent Art Style game.

Thank goodness that game supported the Classic Controller otherwise it would've been nigh on unplayable. So I'm praying Metroid will support it too...!

Cool. I just picked up Metroid Prime Trilogy for 15 quid from Gamestation, so hopefully I might have finished it just in time for this.

    Long live Samus.

@andromeda does it really? How do you control yoshis tongue, collect and fire star bits and do the rolly ball bits where the Wiimote is vertical?. Sounds weak to me.
