Metro 2033 DLC detailed

Ranger Pack due for PC and Xbox 360.

THQ has confirmed that the upcoming Metro 2033 downloadable content mentioned earlier is due "in the very near future", and detailed the contents.

The "Ranger Pack" will introduce two new weapons - the Heavy Automatic Shotgun and the Volt Driver, "Miller's signature gun".

You also get "Ranger Mode" game rules. These include standard Ranger mode, where ammo is reduced but weapons do more damage, and Ranger Hardcore, which does away with the HUD.

On top of that you can expect to earn new achievements (worth 250 Gamerpoints on Xbox 360).

There's no specific date for the pack, and pricing will be announced closer to launch.

Hm, I'd like to actually have the game first so WHY ISN'T IT ON STEAM ALREADY?! ?!? !! ?!? !

2 weapons and a slight change in the existing game? It would be nice if it was free but asking money for that seems a bit too much. 3-4 years ago stuff like this would have been churned out by the modding community while the developers actually created new content.

I was expecting much more developed and interesting DLC. Your'e right 4A games, this is not what I expected (reference to their twitter page). Shame really; I enjoyed Metro 2033, more so than Bioshock 2 - sorry for the un-even but somehow largely made comparison. :p

LOL I did doubt it would be anything worthwhile. They really expect people to buy a couple of weapons and a harder mode?

DLC, biggest waste of space this generation.

Err, i got one of those weapons with the game(the heavy auto shotgun) and if i want it to be harder i can just up the difficulty. Lot of shit really certainly, definately not work paying for.

Give us some levels or some multiplayer or sommat beefy, then i'll reconsider(if i haven't traded it by then).

Indeed, the steam page informs "This item is currently unavailable in your region"

I enjoyed Metro 2033 more then Bioshock 1 & 2 too!...The people who criticize this game don't realize that you have to be thoughtful and cautious in gun fights. Also the stealth section, you have to be extra careful and cautious (made easier if purchased stealth suit) but works well to past danger - use the watch LED display to indicate how hidden you are...Also you can out stare a certain creature in the game (do not run or gun, just hold your wits ). The graphics especially particle effects are also some of the best to be seen on a console - but never gets that much attention, as it's not a COD MW type game.

No it's not on Steam UK, THQ in their "wisdom" decided to restrict how you buy their product here. mr_shoe_uk it does use Steamworks so any retail disc will unlock on your Steam list.

I liked most of it, but this is lame. That said, I'd pay for a patch that would let me play through it again without encountering any of the annoying monsters. The combat vs. humanoid NPC was strategic and good fun, but I couldn't stand the annoying dogs or the stupid dragons or the silly librarians (and yes, I know that you could get by them without firing a single shot).

It seems a bit weak to be honest, I was expecting something a bit better than that. The game had so much charm for having so many flaws and deserves another outing; perhaps a more free roam affair because it offers a much more mature and realistic take to Fallout 3 in some respects.

They spent time doing this expecting people to pay for it instead of doing a patch?!? Someone needs to slap some Damn Straight Logic into game makers and fast!
