Hmmm!
Just cant seem to get used to the controls using after playing it for hours and hours on the DS. It dosent seem so frantic and fast anymore?

I bought this and I love it. It is a very well presented, clever puzzle game that is fantastic fun in two-player mode. 7/10 is a reasonable score I feel, although I never played the DS original. I can understand those DS-owning Meteos fans thinking that it plays a little sluggish with the controller, but once you are in the zone those problems seem to melt away.

One of my main queries is why the heck is there no 4-player option (off or online!)?

I bet people who haven't played the DS original will love this. I played it on the DS, though, and I think the game's rubbish without a proper control method like the stylus.

the weakness of the game is that just random moving around of tiles seems to be just as successful, once the game starts speeding up. There needs to be some extra strategic incentive to plan your moves, but there isnt

So is it more of a 2-player game than a high score game? I couldn't figure out how scoring works from the demo.

@dryden555

That's what I always thought. Maybe I didn't play it long enough, but it seemed like whenever things started to go wrong I could rescue myself by randomly scribbling on the screen.

(from the review) "There's also a yellow meter that builds up during play, and filling it allows you to launch a special attack, which complicates matters further for your opponent."

The way this has been implemented is a game-breaker for me. Every time one of the players uses a special attack, a fullscreen cutscene shows one planet firing at another. It completely ruins the flow and makes you lose track of where your cursor is. Imagine being on the verge of being defeated and having to quickly fire up some Meteos....then a rubbish cutscene takes place...and when you return to the action, by the time you've located the cursor amongst dozens of blocks it's game over. Simply a dreadful idea.
