Metal Slug 7 to return on DS this autumn News

DS News by Robert Purchese

30 June, 2008

Ignition will be bringing Metal Slug 7 back to life on DS, with an autumn release confirmed for the US.

It breathes life back into the 2D side-scrolling shooter after nearly 12 years, adding plenty of new bits and bobs: seven extra missions, six fresh characters, new weapons, bosses, Slugs and gameplay modes.

It should also make you feel much more manly when using your DS.

"Truth be told, I have a pink DS and was embarrassed to play it in public. Now with Metal Slug 7 loaded, I have no qualms," said Ignition boss Ajay Chadha.

Japan will be getting Metal Slug 7 even earlier on 22nd July, but there's no word on a European release. Pop over to our Metal Slug 7 gallery for the first snaps.

Or you could always sate your thirst for Metal Slug by grabbing the revamped third instalment from Xbox Live Arcade, which we thought was really rather good.

It needs to have a large neon sign saying "I am playing Metal Slug 7!" attached.

Awesome. I quite enjoyed Metal Slug Advance (and of course totally love the 'real' ones) and I am really looking forward to this.

Metal Slug really is awesome. I gotta say though... Not a fan of the GBA one. Hopefully this one'll still to the old-school formula eh?
