Metal Gear Solid on PSN this week
Portable Ops, Peace Walker to follow.
Konami has announced the arrival of Metal Gear Solid on the PlayStation Store this Thursday, 19th November.
It was this PSone game that took the series 3D and established Hideo Kojima's creations as some of the best in the world. Metal Gear Solid will cost £7.99.
Following Metal Gear Solid will be MGS: Portable Ops, MGS: Portable: Ops+ and MGS: Digital Graphic Novel.
The idea is for Konami to build some serious Metal Gear Solid momentum ahead of MGS: Peace Walker's release sometime next year.
That PSP game, remember, is being overseen by Hideo Kojima himself, and has, among other things, four-player co-op.
There's much more information on the gamepage below.

Also +1 VicViper, played through most of FFVII again recently but FFVIII is the one I desperately want

I've seen it on the JP PSN, tauting me with its presence. Haven't seen a mention in any press about it though strangely, guess it doesn't have the weigth of FFVII in interest wise.

Just getting the original PAL disc to work on the PS3 would be a good start.

It's a PS1 game, not an updated HD version for the PS3 (like the new GOW Collection or Call Of Duty Classic) so no Trophies.

As others say the rose tints don't work for me any more either.
Edit:
-2 for offering a very good alternate way of playing?
I forgot to mention bleamcast aswell, another great way of playing MGS1

By the way who ever complains about paying £7.99 for an absolute classic in video game history has chosen the wrong hobby - that's just about 2 pints down the pub, come on.
