News by Robert Purchese

6 October, 2008

Capcom will dish out some extra content for Mega Man 9 this week.

Added will be Endless Attack - a level of infinite length that challenges players to get the farthest - and Proto Man mode, which lets you romp through the game as Proto Man.

He has slightly different abilities to Mega Man and can deflect bullets, but he also takes double damage and has double bounce back when hit.

The US WiiWare update hits today (ours should arrive on Friday), the XBLA content arrives tomorrow, and the PSN package is scheduled for Thursday.

You'd have to be Megaman himself to get past the first bloody level!

ah, now this is the one thing that isn't authentic to the NES experience. if this was on the NES you'd unlock this sort of shit by actually playing the game (or copying a password out of a magazine). of course now you have to pay for it, and all you get for being good at the game is some meaningless number going up on a server in america somewhere

Why not release it with the full game in the first place? They were working on it before the game got released ffs.

FFS, it's not like they've even *expensive*!

Haven't worked out myself what's so "hard" about MM9 yet. Just like the old school MM games, it gets an unfair rep.

Awesome! Now that I have pretty much done all of the challenges that don't take forever to accomplish (like finishing the game without getting damaged) this will come in handy.
