I thought the original Max Payne on the Xbox was great...

I enjoyed both 1 & 2 the first time around. They were'nt the deepest or cleverist of games but were certainly jolly good fun. Would I spend a tenner on either of them today though? Would I bollocks! £10 my arse!

I was just about to download em, but found them for £8.99 for the pair on Steam.

Buy them on the PC, most pcs can run them these days and the pc version is miles better on every level not to mention the price.

They need to sort out the pricing for these Xbox Originals - I'm sure it's nice to have them with Achievements and some people will buy them at this price out of convenience, but surely they'd sell a shit load more if they were £5-£6?! Particularly, as has been mentioned, since you can get them for a few quid second hand now.

PC and HD Consoles are much more comparable rather than the last gen.

£10 is a joke for an XBOX game that you can readily get for at most £3 these days (local Gamestation has Max Payne for £1.99 and Max Payne 2 for £2.99). If, as has been mentioned, they had achievement points or were upscaled or anything like that, then I could see why they were charged at such a premium.

Only Xbox Original I've ever downloaded is Dreamfall. But what I'm really waiting for is SILENT HILL 2. Come on, Microsoft!

Do people recommend these? which is the best one? i have a laptop so i don't think buying them on steam would be a good idea.

if your laptops quite new it shouldn't have a problem playing at least max payne 1, even 2 on lower settings. the temptation to get these games over XBL is there, but it's outweighed by the zero percent chance of me paying a ludicrous amount for these games

i looked at these today on the marketplace...max payne 1 is just under 6 gig(5.8 or 5.9)..and Max Payne 2 is just under 2 gig..weird

The problem you have is all download prices go buy the unrealistic RRP's. I remember EG pulling up that twat Reeves about PSP ripping on PSN recently. His reply was "are they high? I thought they were all RRP".

Obviously WE all know RRP is bollocks as do (some) retailers, but sadly it's not sunk in yet at the top. Although in fairness we are not talking 2nd hand either so it is unfair to compare really, but then again it's 2nd hand pricing the industry wants to ignore and eventually stamp out so they don't need to compete with 2nd hand and can just continue with the ripping on downloads so sod 'em!

Seriously though people don't bother with overpriced Xbox gaming, if Devs and MS want to sting you for a old game just choose to support your small local independent games stores instead and pick up all the originals for cheaper 2nd hand.

Oh, and I bought both of these earlier from the Marketplace, as my hard copies were both pre-owned, and these are two games that are well worth the money in my personal opinion.

Lame. They should have released the PC version onto XBLA.

I just would like to play the original xbox games upscaled and not in 4:3, its the least they should do for any game on marketplace.

I completely agree with that when it comes to new or recent releases. Selling Burnout on PSN for £39.99 or whatever the RRP is is entirely up to them and almost understandable. (Someone has to stick to the RRP and it will most likely be the company producing the software) I still personally wouldn't pay that for them but I can understand it.

My point here though is that these games are very old and surely the original RRP or even the budget label RRP wouldn't stand any more. These are old games and need to be priced as such. I think the fact that they are on Steam 'new' for £6 or something shows that they could and indeed should be priced nearer to £5.

I also agree with talking with my wallet. They're too dear so I'm not buying them or other XBox Originals. £5 each and they would have sales. :)

Does anyone buy Xbox originals? I cant believe anybody would be stupid enough to spend the money MS ask for games that are years and years old and are available to buy brand new in some places for about 3 or 4 quid.
