i've been impressed with marvellous' output. looking forward to both desperate struggle and demon blade. here's hoping this time they don't censor NMH.

No More Heroes had some passably fun combat and quirky characters, but set in the most unfathomably dull gameworld/city ever committed to code. Killer 7 was miles better. 360 and PS3 owners are missing very little, in my opinion.

Yeah that overworld could have been handled better by a menu for all the content it had. Don't completely write off the game due to that the story/characters/Gameplay (which would have to change without waggle) more than made up for it.

I think the control method elevates No More Heroes on the Wii than if it were on 360/PS3, however, it'd still be a solid action game on those formats too.

No More Heroes was the best game of last year IMO.

To be honest when I was playing NMH i couldn't help but thinking "this game would be so much better on the 360/PS3 , after all the pointless control scheme adds nothing to the game".

Every game except Wii Sports, Boom Blox and Wii Fit would be better on another console with a traditional control scheme.

I loved the Wii controls for No More heroes...really visceral. I don't think it would be half the game without it.

Resi 4 gained nothing from waggle reload, and it's just as easy to aim in Resi 5 as it was Resi 4. It still has the inherent move or aim problem.

farty, so actual physical aim brings nothing? Please. You're wrong.

"farty, so actually physically aim brings nothing?"

The pointer isnt particularly accurate, and and the somewhat eclectic button layout on the Wii controller and nunchuck means it doesnt work well in complex control games. It's best used without buttons, or only 1 button.

"Please. You're wrong."

From where I'm standing you're wrong. Go figure.

farty, the fundamental difference between where we stand is your views are blinded by your biase. that'll teach me for encouraging you. either way you are blatantly wrong. get real.

as for accuracy complaints; World of Gloo takes a swipe at your chops

Stop being a twat. I have a copy of Resi 4 thankyouverymuch so just shut the fuck up with that fanboy shit and try for once in your life to argue on relevant points instead of your usual pathetic 'oh teh bias' fallback. It's lame and you can do better.

Resi 4 is the most innapropriate use of the Wiimote out of all the Wii games that I own, Da Blob being the second. Having said that I find Resi controls in general an abomination that needs to be burned and buried forever. Dead Space conclusively proved that survival horror doesnt have to play like shit to work.

The pointing works reasonably well in World of Goo and Boom Blox, but Goo has snap-to-target and Boom Blox doesnt need pixel-accurate positioning like Resi does.

So in conclusion, no I do not think the Wii pointer adds anything to the game. I found Resi 5 much easier to control.

farty, you want to have a discussion about how similarly easy the two control schemes are. i'm saying that the experience of actually physically aiming adds and transforms RE4. i'm currently playing through RE4 on Wii and i don't agree that there are accuracy issues with the pointer.

finally, don't be an ignorant twat. you've gather yourself a reputation as a blind 360 fanboy. for me to pull you up on that with regards to your opposing views can't be that far outside the realms of possibility? the fact you seek crediability is assuming.

Did someoen just say RE5 was easy to control?

Am I in some strange parallel dimension here? Because that's not the impression i got from playing the demo.

I think every game using analogue thumbsticks would play better with a d-pad or a mouse -- what's your point, exactly?

And metroid prime 3 controlled better than ANY fps i've played on any other console (even though it's not strictly speaking a fps)

Pointing at the screen and shooting > using right analog stick

The shooting range section in fable 2 for example.. awful on the dual stick.. needs either a mouse or pointing device...

I'd hate to see No More Heroes ported and improved on the 360/PS3. Defeats the whole purpose of the controls and exclusivity.
I wish the Wii was as powerful as the other 2, and I wish Nintendo would step up it's game a bit.

"i'm saying that the experience of actually physically aiming adds and transforms RE4."

And I'm saying that physically aiming added nothing for me. Pointer or traditional controller it's still the same game, same enemies, same locations, and I didn't find the controls any less awkward but playing on the I Wii did have to sit closer to the screen to make the pointer register which was uncomfortable after a while compared to slouching with a traditional controller.

"finally, don't be an ignorant twat. you've gather yourself a reputation as a blind 360 fanboy. for me to pull you up on that with regards to your opposing views can't be that far outside the realms of possibility?."

Fine, you're obsessed, I get it. If you can't argue on relevant points then there's no point talking with you.

What it needs are hands that are capable of using the very simple controls, which you obviously don't have.

Not gona ever happen Eurogamer. If you read the interview in Japanese "which" Gamasutra is pretty biased on the translation, by the mean "hardcore" on translation the interviewer used the term "more powerfull" consoles and as in Japanese and the formal way of speaking Wada answered with the same term. Gamasutra is a pro 360 website and the interviewer is "tranlating" the interview that way to please the HD crowd.

No More Heroes is Suda best selling game and he is very loyal to his fan base which are most of them nintendo fans. So Travis stays on Nintendo side and the next time you wish to see him on HD, that would be only possible on the next Nintendo console format.
