Surprised nobody has really copied the massively unsubtle tilting camera angles for arcade racers when going round corners to give a more dramatic effect...

I hate to say it but the visuals do look rather poor, and I don't mean that in a moronic "BEST GRAPHICZ R ON 360" way, I mean it in a pure, Mario Kart-loving, manner.

Nintendo can usually make their games still look tip-top despite being on inferior hardware (e.g. Super Mario Galaxy) but those images do look rather bad.

hopefully it willl have a perks and level up system like COD 4.... :-)

I too wish they'd return to the simple Kart styling in the vehicles, what with it being Mario 'Kart'. Then again this is hardly a game based on a realistic world :)

All this said, the silly cars shown in the shots are reminiscent to the ones in MK DS anyway, so no biggie.

I must say, I was profoundly unfussed about this game until I read the IGN preview today (http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/852/85295... ), which makes it sound a lot more interesting. The full support for Wheel, Nunchuk, Classic and GCN pad control, eleven opponents as standard, 100cc class motorcycle-exclusive and 32 tracks raised my interest quite a bit, but it's the online stuff that really impressed me; 12-player races (with the option for two people to race online on the same console), with full leaderboards, stats, and downloadable ghosts and challenges is pretty impressive for a Nintendo online effort, and will all work pretty well on Mario Kart. Even the screenshots look better on there IMO...my advice to the doubters would be to have a look at the preview. I wouldn't say I'm totally sold, but I'm a heck of a lot more interested than I was before...

I don't like the new cars either, I can see their trying to do a wacky racers rip off but the designs are just plain awful! The classic karts found in the original were much better. I dunno, not getting too excited about this, but this is Nintendo and it will no doubt turn out to be another classic. :)

Looks ok, but really not anything special compared to double dash. Lets hope for a fantastic gameplay. But until now, I will wait without to much anticipating.

All I care about in a racer is:

1) is it fun
2) is it fast

There's no use having pretty visuals if it struggles along at 30hz (*cough* pgr *cough*)

These screenshots are 6 months old and are from quite an outdated build, god knows how they ended up in the new screenshots section.

Nintendo need new IP's; Mario this, Mario that and Mario the other, I'm bloody sick of Mario. I don't think that the graphics are too bad; but I found the pictures of Princess Peach in a pink and white leather jumpsuit portraying full camel-toe, absolutely disgusting.

wow. Nintendo are really pushing the boundaries here. Mario Kart GC eat your heart out. not.

Mario Kart is one of my favourite game series.

Yet i couldn't give a shit when this comes out.

Looks sub-standard and the new cars are rubbish, just like in MKDS.
